You might also try ebay and get the inexpensive Italian edition from Ermitage (not sure whether that one is in print right now). Very good image quality, French intertitles, optional Italian subs, same soundtrack but thankfully NO voice-over!

Just a heads-up if someone is looking for the American release: David Kalat's All Day Entertainment currently has it for sale for a mere $5

A few suggestions for MoC for next year or 2012, all Japanese titles:

Kurosawa's Cure (Japan's scariest film after Audition)

two Kore-eda films: Afterlife (that is, if the previous UK distributor no longer has the rights) & Maboroshi no Hikari

Golden Slumber (2010)

and for Eureka's line:

Gallants (2010) on DVD + Blu-Ray

Maybe I've missed something but it's already middle of December and still no news?

Nick mentioned in the February DVD thread that the as yet unannounced projects are taking them longer than anticipated (hence Eureka's decision to release a few titles on DVD to fill the gap) and I think MoC only make official announcements about a month or two prior to release now. Could be another four weeks before the March or April line-ups are revealed.

They might both be Nibelungen. (And I wouldn't complain.)

Hmm, the same day as Criterion announcements. I sense a possible overlap that could nevertheless be very exciting.

We haven't even started working on DIE NIBELUNGEN I'm afraid, but it's on the griddle for 2011.

Just don't let it burn! In the meantime, I am going to make the completely unreasonable assumption that one of the titles is Epstein's Finis terrae. :-"

Just wondering if MoC could licence something from Gaumont. They have release quite a few great, but non English friendly, Blu-rays recently.

I'm slightly more interested right now in what Nick's going to announce today as it could be absolutely anything....

It's half 6 Nick, will you be appearing soon?

Just saw the new restoration a few weeks ago. Absolutely beautiful.
