Nah. It's the flipside of the Howe Records reissue of the Scanners and The Brood soundtracks:

That poster of The Brood is incredible... which is precisely why Criterion won't use it.

Hahahaha. Wow, what a truly awful cover.

Edit: I mean The Brood.

Anything but that Brood poster was going to be a disappointment

I actually like The Brood's cover, but that Mulholland Dr. one -- oh my god, what the actual fuck.

What did they do to Herring's face? She looks like a Barbie now. Still better than that The Brood cover. Yikes.

Kwaidan's cover is fucking amazing and works perfectly for the movie.

Lynch and Cronenberg fans...enjoy that shit, those are two of the worst covers in the collection.

I have a feeling he told the designer exactly what the cover should be like...as divisive as possible.

First time in ages I'm buying three Criterions in a month and they do those covers. Blurgh!

Choosing the "Worst Cover" award for the Forum Awards this year is really going to be difficult.

Was curious and did a search for fan posters for Mulholland Drive. Unsurprisingly everything I was finding by the non-paid artists was better than what Criterion foisted on us:

The Mulholland Dr. cover is like three different ideas just haphazardly thrown together. I get that Lynch's name and the title are supposed to mimic street signs, but god the execution is amateurish. It sits in the middle of the cover, dividing it in the most awkward way possible. Maybe if they had extended the skyline across the cover with the title on top it would be nicer, but as is: wow.

I usually roll my eyes at "it looks like freshman photoshop" critiques but my god, it looks like freshman photoshop.

It is unquestionably better than what we got. Even if you hate it, at least there's some kind of vision behind it. (And I do like it, for the record) What vision is behind the real one, other than to make it look as laughably inept as possible?

The premise though is rather nice and fits the seemingly contractual requirement that Watts and Herring both appear on the poster.

The blue key newsletter clue would have made for a better cover.

A printout of the full text of any Criterion Newsletter would have made a better cover
