This is a huge bummer though totally expected (I was wondering when they'd give us the inevitable delay update but wasn't expecting it to be six weeks); have to wonder if in addition to improving the restoration (which is totally fine, though a bit odd considering it's literally just about to start its theatrical run so is presumable finished) they just don''t want to have to deal with people expecting it in time for Christmas after everyone expected Hellraiser by Halloween.

Don't forget, there are films besides Out 1 in the set, so I'm assuming those are the ones that still need more work. Out 1 already played in Brooklyn last week, so not sure that's being further restored...

If it's because of restoration, then it's about the other films of the set, not OUT 1, after all it was released yesterday in France

To echo above sentiments, I didn't receive any email, either, and was also looking forward to plowing through these over Christmas break. Oh well; I'm still excited by the mere fact that this is soon to be a thing in the world--I'm a longtime Rivette fan, and have never been able to see any of the included films before, though have read about them countless times.

Maybe I'll pick up the Kiju Yoshida set to help pass the time until the Rivette set comes...

That is indeed the reason. I only delivered the edited Jonathan Rosenbaum interview last week, not because of tardiness on my part but because I only got my hands on the masters a couple of days earlier.

On the upside, I can confirm first hand that all three look absolutely gorgeous.

Me neither, but I assume that has something to do with customer priority with such e-mails. Anyways, I'm mildly happy as I wouldn't be able to get to the set until February anyways.

Don't worry, when they'll do, you'll get it 6 times (just to be sure).

I retire on Dec. 31 -- so I want these available right away after that date...

(I have seen them all, but never with English -- or French -- subtitles).

I'm sure it taking longer because they are adding L'Amour Fou.

MichaelB who works with Arrow on many projects including this one affirms literally three posts above you that the non-Out 1 films require further restoration work.

I believe that was tongue-in-cheek.

Yeah, I should have added a smiley after my comment. No L'Amour Fou unfortunately.

It is La Religieuse they are adding. :)

And sorry if this is obvious, but when will the reduced price end?

I've seen them all, no big deal. I recommend the Rosenbaum podcast to hold you guys over though.

If only……

Anyway, I'm buying this for the other 3 features and not Out 1, which is one of the few Rivette films I don't care for.

What reduced price? The current price via Arrow is the standard price from them. There was an early bird price for a short while which was £10 cheaper (£74.99).

The £85 price, so I suppose that it won't revert to £150 list price then?

That's just the RRP...£84.99 is the set Arrow Store price, and is more likely to go down than up. I don't recall any of their prices going up, especially in the case of box sets. Seems to be the cheapest place to get it at the moment, so if I do get this myself I'll probably get it direct from them (maybe using up some rewards points to take a chunk off).

L'Amour fou is playing this Sunday at Lincoln Center on a 35mm print - just wondering, are there any plans anywhere to release this on Blu-Ray or even DVD?

If it's the print I'm thinking of, it's been around for awhile. I saw it the last time at Lincoln Center - it's from New Yorker and is in major need of a restoration. I've never heard a thing about this ever getting a home video release, which is a shame.

I actually saw L'Amour fou at Lincoln Center as well, sometime in the last two to four years - could it be the same screening/print? I don't recall it being in terrible shape - all I remember in terms of PQ is how much grainier the 16mm footage looked versus the 35mm footage.

I remember it being definitely watchable but I can't see them transferring that print. My memory may be faulty here but I seem to remember at the rivette retro in queens they should the print and projected it at a wider ratio, like 1.85 or something. I can't recall what that did to the framing of the 16mm footage. When I saw it again at Lincoln center, they definitely framed it at academy, with the 35mm footage having black at the top and bottom and the 16mm footage looking full. Does this seem right? It's possible my memory is tricking me on the Queens screening, but I know for certain it was the same print.
