Since it's Region A and sourced from a French resto, there must be a pretty good chance of a French-intertitled version coming out in France at some point.
Though whether it'll have English subtitles is another question entirely.

I thought that was a bit odd too, no extras to speak of yet it gets "best extras"?
Pity it's not region free, I'd buy it if it was.

It sure looks that way. Not nearly as interesting on it's own. I guess they could be just including them as supplements.
This is due on October 23. Surely it was the big title they were waiting to announce earlier.

Although I understand why Kubrick wanted this suppressed, I always enjoyed this better than KILLER'S KISS. Sure, it's really rough around the edges and is essentially just a scrappy pulp movie but there's still a little something special about it. The jump in quality from nth generation bootleg to blu-ray will be astounding, a definitely minor but exciting release.

According to the Digital Bits, The Seafarers will be included as a supplement. No word on the other two.

Interesting that Fear and Desire was a co-production with The Library of Congress. I thought it was the Eastman House that had the only print of this and had worked on restoring it.

The big title was Kubrick, this is a new set of announcements.
Bummer about the Langs being on DVD only, but still very tempting!

It wasn't announced back in March. It was leaked on Facebook by Indian Relay, who they were working with to get The Seafarers.

Breaking: we've just added a Blu-ray of D.W. Griffith's ABRAHAM LINCOLN (restored and remastered in HD for the first time ever) to our release slate on 11/13. Take that, Mr. Spielberg!

Fear and Desire will include The Seafarers. Kino "could not come to mutually agreeable terms with the owner/licensor of those shorts." (Warner, I believe?)

I wonder if the features from the Seafarers DVD will be ported over (probably not): a commentary track with Keith Gordon and Roger Avary, and an interview with Katharina Kubrick and Roger Avary.

Warner have said on Facebook that they don't own the Kubrick shorts as "only RKO shorts retained in [their] library date post-1955. All the others were sold off prior to the sale of the main library."
