Actually, that would be fantastic. A really good one, Zardoz, and I would love to have it on blu. Boorman makes my day.

Yeah, absolutely. 'Zardoz' would be one of my favorite releases easily.

It's buried somewhere on the boards, I seem to remember calling a Zardoz Criterion release, years ago. A Blu-ray would be fantastic.

I've been reading around on other posts but is it pretty much in the cards that were getting Heaven's Gate next year?

If the readings of poorly pixelated scribbles can be trusted.

As I recall, there were hints that it was coming before that, so it seems like a fair guess. Though, confusingly, Errol Morris's Gates of Heaven is also a rumored title.

Are the announcements today or Friday? What've we had for recent clues? Godzilla, Moment of Truth, Cronenbergs, wackkydrunkdog.jpg?

There's going to be a huge uproar on Facebook tomorrow when Criterion announces not Talk to Her, but some foreign movie about bullfighting no one's ever heard of. This is why Criterion needs to abandon difficult newsletter clues.

Ever since the Blu-ray release of Punch-Drunk Love was cancelled, I've been holding out hope for another Bottle Rocket-ish license from Sony.

Could CC's mention of Royal Tenenbaums being 10 years old hint towards an upgrade of it tomorrow?

There is a 10th anniversary screening of the film tonight at NYFF with Wes Anderson, Anjelica Huston and others will be in attendance. It was probably in reference to that or just.... the film's 10th anniversary.

Great news on the Preminger.
I bet the Ashby is Harold and Maude.

I think they got Shallow Grave directly from film4. If so let's hope for titles like The Long Day Closes, Drowning by Numbers, Resurrected, Vanya on 42 st, An Angel at My Table (blu) etc.

They did say more Godard will come too, but with Janus and Rialto having 3 (Weekend, Le Petit Soldat, Les Carabiniers), that might be those, so that was too obvious for me to list. Hopefully some post-New Wave Godard is coming.

All the same be still my heart. Is this the first Preminger for Blu? Between that and any Ashby (by my dollar the best director of the '70s) I'm content for a while.
