I was just about to ask whether the non-vote-month was my chance to predict
TAL being skipped and soundchaser would take it again, or whether it was pushed to this month. I don't wanna mess with the juju
I vote the former, but the edit button is always there if the juju comes right out and tells us otherwise.

I'm just cribbing from an interview I saw with Brian Cox, who picked those two as his favorites from the spring retrospective on the Channel. I do think, however, that if someone inside Criterion likes Jean Arthur enough to have mounted that tribute, that we're likely to see a second film of hers before long.

Which WB titles do we generally know/sense will come to Criterion at some point, barring a change in the studio's licensing policies?
The Lusty Men, Journey Into Fear, Performance, Lone Star, O Lucky Man!, Prince of the City, maybe a handful of additional New Line titles
(more John Waters, Menace II Society, etc.)...

The More the Merrier would be a more than worthy Criterion release. Bring on a Charles Coburn scholar!

I would make a case for him being the Buster Keaton of the talkies, with his deadpan shtick working in conjunction with his physical placement in his social environment. Can I have the job, Criterion?

Only way I see Platform coming in March is if the restoration premieres at Berlin—possible, but I think it more likely goes to Cannes or Venice. Also I'm betting Criterion will do a box with all four of their Jia acquisitions instead of standalone releases.
