Warner sell your old DVDs to Kim Jong-Il at exorbitant prices. It's okay, Kim just raised income tax to 95%.

At Least in theory you could get 2001 and Full Metal Jacket for your 2 discer.

I sent in 9 DVDs including 3 public domain discs (also finally making use of some of the extra DVDs from the Big Lots $3 3 packs). I received an email when first completing the trade-in but did not receive one when they received the DVDs/shipped out the blu-rays (which the site says they do). I noticed my bank was charged a few days ago and yesterday the package arrived with all 9 blu-rays.

As already mentioned, this is a great deal for the Kubrick blu-rays even though Warner has a "Let's milk the Kubrick completists" re-release policy with his films every few years it seems like.

I ordered:

An American in Paris
The Searchers
Rio Bravo
2001
A Clockwork Orange
The Shining
The Wild Bunch
The Cowboys
A Scanner Darkly

all together a little over $47 shipped.

Inspired by that post, I checked on my order from the 28th- it turned out my dvds had gotten in on the 4th, but I still hadn't been charged and the blus still hadn't shipped. I called, and it turns out LA Confidential is on backorder, and they were planning on delaying the whole shipment until it came in.

I complained, and they split it off at no extra cost to me- so I still won't get that one for a while, but the rest of the stuff should at least be here soon. If anyone else ordered LA Confidential, it's probably worth calling in.

never used WBShop before, how'd you check on your order status? Apparently registering through dvd2blu doesn't give you a wbshop account?

In the label they send you to send your DVDs in with, there's a tracking number. There should be a .pdf of the label attached to the mail they sent you when you made the order.

clever! and thanks, I'd forgotten about the post office tracking number. mine was delivered two days ago, but no email from them saying they've received it. Unfortunately they're already closed. I have LA Confidential in my order and want to get the rest of it back (actually just my christmas movies mainly) so I'll be calling first thing tomorrow.

Looking at the webpage now, it seems you have to send in matching discs.

Glad I got in on it when you could send anything. Roadhouse and Vikings dvds for Aviator and Jesse James Blus.

Like others, they've received my package but haven't sent a confirmation email or anything yet. No biggie I can wait.

Damn, that's a shame- they just added Sopranos Season 1, too, for which $20 would be a pretty solid price. I wish I'd gone ahead and done everything I was considering last time, although a lot of the stuff I skipped was stuff I already have on dvd, so I suppose I could still do them.

I got an email response to my stuck-in-limbo order; it seems that Eyes Wide Shut and The Fugitive are also backordered, but The Assassination of Jesse James... evidently is not.

So has anyone yet received any of their discs? My retreads were received on the 17th but I've yet to get an e-mail on the shipping status. Tried calling but lines are busy and I'm betting it's all incoming calls getting recorded messages due to the holiday.

I got mine about a week ago. I'd say keep calling, you're probably stuck on a backordered disc- my LA Confidential still hasn't come.

I finally succeeded in cajoling WB into splitting my order. nearly half of it was backordered. When I asked the lady what happens if titles currently in stock become backordered while waiting for the backordered stock she had no answer. finally I asked to talk to a supervisor about it and she came back about five minutes later and said they could split an order once, if it's been backordered more than two weeks, so she separated my order, hopefully I'll be getting a bundle of blurays before christmas. :)

Half of my order still backordered too. I'm not in that much of a hurry, so I'll wait for them to get everything back in-stock.

It seems that the deal to turn in any DVD from any studio is on again.

Excellent. I delayed last time and was worried I would be stuck with all the stuff I planned to trade in.

My long-since-forgotten order arrived in my mailbox today. Ordered on Oct. 28, the titles were ...Jesse James, Eyes Wide Shut, and The Fugitive. If you're waiting on any of these titles, your wait may be coming to an end.

For clarification, the discs you receive come with normal packaging, right? Or is this like the Criterion deal, where (as I understand it), you just get a disc to insert in to your now-empty case?

Just like I imagine they'd look like in stores, if I ever were to set foot in a store that sold Blu-Ray discs.

I just got my package today as well after 6 weeks, also including Jesse James, so that may have been holding it up. Considered how much time had passed, I thought maybe they saw that I was attempting to pay actual money for a blu-ray of Tango and Cash, and trashed the order thinking it was a practical joke.

Found my 12 title order in a rather damp, oversized (it could have held 3 dozen discs!) padded envelope at the front door with the newspaper yesterday morning, apparently delivered the previous afternoon via UPS. Very glad to get it before Christmas as several were originally intended as gifts. Based on previous posts the problematic title on my list was EYES WIDE SHUT. It appears Warner may have actually made the extra effort to get these posted before Santa leaves the North Pole.
