Have you seen Sam Joffe's remake of Brighton Rock, Nothing? It is a bit of a muddle in all departments, from the updating of the period (allowing the film to inadvisedly take on Quadrophenia), to the unfortunate problem of keeping the censor mandated ending from the 1947 film rather than going back to the original ending of the source novel (which to my mind would have been the only reason for even attempting to remake the film in the first place).Nothing wrote:The real weak point is the trite and insanely predictable script (I had the whole plot figured out from literally the first 3 shots), but he's Roland Joffe's son, so he must be good right?
