I will say for Tatum that he hosted SNL a few months ago and wasn't terrible.

While certainly not the masterpiece that The Playlist implied, this was a lot better than a comedy take on 21 Jump Street had any right to be. I watched the overly earnest and occasionally sanctimonious TV show in middle school, and this was absolutely the right way to approach this material. I like that it's self-aware without being smug about it. It's a satire of both buddy-cop and high school movies, while also being a pretty good entry into each genre. I couldn't help but identify with and relish Hill's chance to do high school over again. I'd also agree that this is the least annoying and wooden that Channing Tatum has ever been; he should stick to comedy.

Tatum = today's Joe Dallesandro. Atleast that is what I get from the Tatum/Montiel films.
