It's been asked for before, never really thought of it until a couple of recent suggestions. We can certainly look into it but MGM are being a bit funny right now. We've got loads of requests in but they're not too interested in the UK right now unfortunately.

I was going to wait until the 80s list to hype it, but I'll say this now: whichever English-language DVD label finally unearths Johnny Mak's Long Arm of the Law (1984) is going to reap plenty of "Undiscovered Masterpiece" publicity.
It was #6 on the same Top 100 list that brought #1 Spring in a Small Town to everyone's attention. Yet I can't find any sort of proof of any sort of theatrical run outside of the Chinatown circuit.
Amen re the John Woo titles. The Japanese BD of Hard Boiled looks very good but is not English-friendly.
King Hu would be great to see in Arrow's catalogue. I know A Touch Of Zen is with Optimum/Studio Canal but Raining in the Mountains, The Valiant Ones and Lee Khan might be available?

Jissoji's Buddhist trilogy would be an excellent anouncement. This may have been discussed elsewhere, so forgive me if it has, but is there some difficult rights issue over ATG titles, apart from the usual issue with Japanese titles? Is it that they usually have more than one production company because it strikes me as odd as to why relatively so few have been made available on DVD/Blu, at least in UK/US.
As regards Arrow, any more Fassbinder would be greatly appreciated, especially seeing as AE have discontinued their box sets.
This is perhaps unlikely but I'd love to see some releases of Yoshida in the UK, and more Ôshima (Ceremonies, Dear Summer Sister, The Man Who Left His Will On Film and Diary of a Shinjuku Thief in particular). Basically anything ATG that they can get their hands on (perhaps a set compiling all 3 ATG films based on Monzaemon's 'Love Suicides at Sonezaki' with Ôshima's 'Japanese Summer' thrown in for good measure).
Verhoeven's Dutch work is an excellent suggestion. Turkish Delight is a brilliant film and one that is sadly little known in the UK. Whenever I tell people about it they erroneously assume it's similar to his Hollywood work. Soldier of Orange and Katie Tippell are also very good.
I don't want to push my luck here but er, Showgirls is missing a BD release in the UK, and the US version is Region A locked. Just sayin'.
Basic Instinct and Robocop are victims of god awful transfers at the moment, though I figure StudioCanal would never give up the former and MGM will soon be revisiting the latter.
