I recognize the importance of preserving the format as part of understanding our shared cultural heritage and such, but anyone who willingly watches a VHS tape of something that has since been released in another media is deluding themselves. (And I hate that he’s lumping VHS in with all physical media. The kids are stupid if they’re going after decades-old tapes not for any kind of archival project.)

There's an indie theater in San Francisco that has a regular "Rewind Wednesday" series, where they show Millenial nostalgia movies on VHS on the big screen, e.g. recent and upcoming screenings have included Men in Black, Hook, and The Mummy. Baffles me, but I guess it's popular enough for them to keep doing it.

It could be worse, as I do not think people are celebrating VCDs currently.

And of course there is the Victorville Film Archives, which despite Tim's various successful attempts at destroying all of Gregg's collection over and over again keeps rising like a phoenix from the ashes!

Top right, under Index, there is "Toutes les fiches films", an index of films with links to separate pages for each film, with review, home video info and more. I spot checked "Après la tempête" (Kore-eda´s "After the Storm") and Bresson´s "Les Dames de Bois de Boulogne". At the bottom of each page, there is a link called "Dossier de presse" or "Communiqué de presse", that is, press kits in French. AFAIK, French press kits are quite often longish, with interviews and background info. Worth checking out.
