I had no idea there is a film about the life and career of Ruan Lingyu called
Center Stage (1992).

The HK DVD is still available at yesasia. Maggie Cheung's performance in that film is really good.

Blu-ray available as well. Not sure does it have any extras though, according to
DVD Compare the decade old DVD from
IVL includes interviews and a nice booklet among other things.

I have the BD which is an upscale of the 20010 FS DVD but the quality isn't that bad.
The only extra is the trailer.
