The only (honest) reason was that we ran out of time and budget on that project. It was around the time we were working on SHOAH for 4 months and having sleepless nights.

Very unfortunate I think, considering the Criterion edition has optional subtitles. Anyway, I hope it didn't affect sales of this otherwise stunning DVD.
