Finally got to this and largely liked it, but I agree that Carol’s performance really hurts the film. She’s so wilting to almost being a nonentity which makes it hard to see outside Macy’s perspective. It almost turns it into a My Dinner with Andre relationship, but she lacks a moment like the electric blanket monologue to overwhelm him. The film really needed an actress who always looks like they are thinking.
