This is my first Criterion 4K Blu-Ray outside of Wall-E. Should the grain be this overpowering? Is that expected? It almost appears like noise considering how heavy it feels. Should I expect this from all 4K Blu Rays that aren't from Digital sources?

I haven't watched this particular release but I don't think you're ever going to see more grain than should be there. More often, some take efforts to remove it. Different films have different levels of graininess. It's an intrinsic part of the image and I for one think it's beautiful

It's a grainy film. I saw it in 35mm in theaters a couple of times. i don't know if the grain was intentionally boosted during post-production or if it's just an artifact of the lighting conditions and film stocks, but the 4K looks how I remember it from those theatrical screenings.

Atmos track for this is amazing.
Question, as a first time viewer: Why would the old lady be the one that the daughter saw the most?
Seems like the
old lady is a medium brought in to conduct a seance, and the seance in the finale seems like that was the first time the family held one.
The movie takes place over a period of time (many days) so the old lady should be the one she saw the *least*...?
