Can you add Robert Beavers' wonderful The Hedge Theater?

That was actually already in the database...as a 1990 film (though no one voted for it during the 1990 list). I gather that year was when the last of the footage was shot but then it wasn't actually assembled into a film and screened until 2002? Anyway, I've moved it to this year

ok, cool. thanks. I'd encourage people to check it out. Wonderful montage of Italian architecture and Beavers sewing a shirt. Jumps in scale of shot sizes accompanied by great soundscape made the whole experience sensually satisfying.

My god, Bill Morrison’s Decasia is an incredible achievement in experimental cinema. The haunting, urgent score really emphasizes the study of mortality bleeding from these images sliced together. There's a moment early in the film where a small child is playing while their image decays and it's among the most powerful scenes I've seen in a film, but I bet one could say that about any of these portraits

I really liked Decasia, which has some sequences that are breathtaking, but I felt that on the whole it was too much. The power and beauty of those decaying images faded as the film went on. Some of the sequences seemed somehow thematically out of place. I feel like it should have been shorter or perhaps edited differently. The score, though, is fantastic in every way.

My top two films were orphans:

The Magdalene Sisters and Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself.

They really need Blu Ray releases to help raise their profiles.

This was in my Netflix disc queue the entire time I had an account, but I never got around to actually renting it!

Looking at the list result I find some of the top titles intriguingly absent in the Blu-ray era. I remember Talk to Her was pretty popular when I first got hooked on DVD, yet it's nowhere to be found on Blu-ray in all major territories. What gives? And the Dardenne brothers' works from the 2000s, where are they? I thought 4K restorations were done a few years ago. Similarly absent is Apichatpong Weeraserthakul's works from this era. Weren't there gossips that they'd also received proper restoration?
