Highway 61 wrote:Does anyone know if De Palma actually filmed a full-length video for "Relax"? Or did he just intend to? He talks about it on the disc, but it's unclear if the project was abandoned before or after being made.
Just for the movie. From Wikipedia:
Videos
It has been attested that Trevor Horn first contemplated signing Frankie Goes To Hollywood after seeing their appearance on the UK Channel Four show The Tube in February 1983, performing an early version of "Relax".
The first official video for "Relax", directed by Bernard Rose which was set in a gay nightclub, was allegedly banned by MTV and the BBC, prompting the recording of a second video (director unknown) in early 1984, featuring the group performing with the help of "laser beams". However, after the second video was made the song was banned completely by the BBC, meaning that neither video was ever broadcast on any BBC music programmes.

Re. De Palma's WISE GUYS. The old UK video release of this title encountered some music rights problems, resulting in the Bruce Springsteen song 'Pink Cadillac' being removed from the soundtrack of a scene showing the two central characters driving to Las Vegas. This song was included in the various versions screened on UK television, but it's quite possible that the forthcoming DVD will have to be rescored.

Was this film the reason why GoodFellas had a different title from Nick Pileggi's original book Wiseguy?
