Thanks all. As it turns out, I did find confirmation that the Carlotta DVD is a PAL DVD. Just in case there was any doubt.

This is getting released by
Kino in a boxset with all of Joaquim Pedro de Andrade's films. So this topic can probably be re-titled and moved to the "other labels" thread.
Weird, how looking through the forthcoming topics, there's quite a few of these confirmed titles that never panned out - some were even confirmed from Criterion via email. So, I wonder what happened? Probably sat around too long on the backburner as other projects and the tidal wave of studio licenses showed up. But, at least for those waiting all these years - its finally out and along with all those other films.

I'm glad this is getting out! All I've seen is Macunaíma, but I liked it enough to be tempted by the boxset. Thanks for posting this, I would have certainly missed this release otherwise.

As a Brazilian myself, I never expected that a Brazilian filmmaker not called Glauber Rocha would ever get this kind of treatment on Blu-ray, especially overseas. Great news.

The Red Light Bandit (1968) is another Cinema Novo classic I would love to see on Blu. The old
Brazilian DVD is a superb release, fully English-friendly if I recall.

Indeed...more Rogério Sganzerla and Julio Bressane would be very welcome. Bressane's recent few films (Sentimental Education, Garoto, Beduino) have been superb, and seemingly unavailable anywhere outside of backchannels and the festival circuit.
