I saw it tonight. It was amazing, truly his best work.
Korine wasn't there to take questions from the audience (what the fuck is anyone going to ask him really?) but he'll be at the apple store in soho tomorrow at 6:30 to do a q&a (i'll be going to see if he's anything like he was on letterman)

Out of curiosity, what was he like on Letterman? He didn't attempt any ninja kicks near poor Dave's face, did he?

I really enjoyed it. David Blaine was there! He told a story about filming Harmony pissing on/near some couple during the shooting of Fight Harm.
He did seem a lot more relaxed, though he still has that nervous humor, he was far from the maniac I've seen in interviews before. He told unique, funny stories.
He talked about a screenplay he was working on while still in a drugged out haze, involving a man who constantly rode around on a pig. The film was called What Drives Pistachio Nuts, was 400 pages, and was supposed to be his "magnum opus." But it was lost when his house burnt down (dude burnt down more than one of his houses). He says he took it to some hard-drive retrival place NASA uses, spent $10,000, and only got one sentence back: "The point is meaningless. The finger is pointless." Which is a line from another author.
I asked him how he works with his DP, and how he balances the preparation the DP needs with the spontaneity he wants for the set. He said he chooses DPs the same as actors, the vibe, energy, feeling they have. He said he could never work with a Republican DP.
(A friend of mine writes for Gay City News and Harmony remembered him from a previous interview, and after listening politely to his question, he exclaimed: "Oh I remember you, you write for that GAY NEWSPAPER!" Much laughter followed.)

Best line of the night was "...Then I'd go up to Harlem and fight a lesbo" also he said he spent 15,000 on data recovery but I think he meant to say $1500.
It was a really good Q&A but the apple store wasn't the place for it (he even mentioned this himself, something about "people buying iPods and shit") it was too loud in the store and I couldn't hear him sometimes since I was standing in the back because there were like 30 seats (some of which were filled up by assholes browsing on their macbooks not paying any attention to Korine)
He's much different now than he was on Letterman like chaddoli said he would be, he seems to have gained a significant amount of weight too which must mean he's off drugs.
I also went up to him after the Q&A was over to congratulate him on the film and ask him about his legal name, he's a really awesome guy.

I found the film disappointing. The Herzog segments were magnificent, but I wasn't too into all that impersonator nonsense.

Chaddoli, surely, you must have at least liked the cinematography?

I would tend to agree with Chaddoli's assessment concerning the impersonator/Herzog scenes, though there were some truly beautifully striking sequences (not just visually) that blew me out of my chair, namely the night scene after their show.
I saw the movie tonight at the Nashville premiere with Harmony introducing and closing the film. He really didn't want to get into the technicalities of the film and sort of stuck to humorous anecdotes that had fleeting relevance to the film. It was an enjoyable night to say the least, and the film is worth seeing. I would need to see it again to make any real judgments, though (aside from the visual aspects and the nuns/herzog story).

The tracking shot of Little Red Riding Hood walking on the rain tracks is astounding.
