I'm only interested in an "Incredible Hulk" movie if it's written by James Kochalka:

Yeah, I also want the movie to be poorly drawn and unfunny

William Hurt looks... real freaky-deaky. I might just see this if it's one of those roles he decides to relish

Full trailer's out: Flash & for U.S./HD-junkies

Norton looks good. Better than his Dr. Strange in The Illusionist, actually.

Yeah, he does look pretty good and seems to be bringing some much needed gravitas to the role. I also like how the Hulk looks. Very cool.

I'm not that thrilled by what I'm seeing in the trailers. I have yet to see a character made of pure CGI that doesn't annoy me. There's just not alot they can do with the Hulk that makes for an interesting film. Personally, I'd go with a gray Hulk-era story, where he's living his life as "Joe Fixit", a Las Vegas enforcer. If you aren't comic book readers, you'll have no idea what I'm talking about, but years ago Peter David had a really good run on the book and did some really interesting things with the character. I'd like to see Hulk shaking down people at the casino and shacking up with cheap women. Maybe next time.

As for Ed Norton, I like him, but this doesn't feel right to me. Banner was a scientist. He should look more bookish. I'd rather see Norton as Daredevil, personally. Daredevil was always my favorite superhero, and needless to say I was not thrilled when I saw Ben Affleck suit up. They could make a really great film if they did it right. Hell's Kitchen. Gritty. Violent. And please, no Elektra this time.

I always thought that Guy Pearce would have made a great Daredevil.

Honestly, especially during CGI showdowns as the Hulk vs. Abomination shows in the trailer, I can't shake the feeling I'm watching someone else play a video game.

That's precisely how I felt about the entire Lord Of The Rings trilogy.

Ang Lee & Schamus on "Hulk" and the remake:
Washington Post wrote:Most Superheroic Bonus Point: During the Museum of the Moving Image discussion [on the Criterion DVD of "The Ice Storm"], Schamus suggests that "The Hulk," the big-budget disaster that Lee directed and Schamus co-wrote and produced, flopped partly because of how it was promoted. "They marketed it as a 'Spider-Man' movie," Schamus complains. For his part, Lee still seems a little devastated by the film's failure: "I thought it was going to wow people."
Entertainment Weekly wrote:EW: What are your thoughts on this year's Hulk remake, The Incredible Hulk?
LEE: I haven't seen any of it. I wish them the best of luck.
SCHAMUS: Louis Letterier is a friend. I worked with him on Unleashed and he's a gem. He was really nervous, kept asking if it's okay. And I said to him, and this sounds absurdly pretentious, but I really think that these Marvel Stan Lee characters are like great theater, like Shakespeare — Olivier can do Hamlet, so can Kenneth Branagh. They are open to many interpretations. There is room for many Hulks.
LEE: I take that back. I hope they're all dead within the hour.

As the studio battles bad buzz and Ed Norton, the NY Times revealed this little tidbit:
As for competition, Marvel and Universal plan to use the giddiness around Iron Man to their advantage. A second Hulk trailer will run in conjunction with Iron Man, and Mr. Downey will make a cameo in Hulk as Iron Man.

Between this and the other quote from earlier in the week, I really had no idea Ang Lee was this funny. He should make a comedy. Next post: He already did, it's called (insert unpopular Ang Lee movie here).

Whoever came up with the Jackson-Kong ripoff scene you get a peek at in the final rapid montage ramping up to the trailer-end... where the chick sits on a high cliff next to the Hulk to do the Beauty & The Beast, "see-the-monster-is-really-a-nature-loving-puppy-dog-inside-who-knows-how-to-sit-on-a-crag-and-take-the-breathtaking-view-with-a-hot-blonde" scene should be put under a mattress and jumped up and down on by a group of easily fatigued Very Heavy Folks. If he suffocates or dies, it's not my problem. He wrote the scene; he asked for it..

How about the 'This is Sparta!' kick on a sneering Tim Roth? Surely, the post-modernism is meant to encourage hours of chin-stroking deliberation.

Given the overreaction to Lee's Hulk, the CGI in the reboot is terrible.

So you didn't know that you "shouldn't make him Ang-lee" (copyright every Hulk review c. 2003)?

Have you listened to his introduction to that comic classic The Virgin Spring?

But really domino track down the Wedding Banquet for a romantic comedy that won't insult your intelligence (which was probably why it was 'unpopular'! )
