This seems to be a good time for Classic Rock DVD's. This, the new Who documentary, the Tom Petty doc, and David Gilmour's Remember That Night all within the last two months.

This went out of print very quickly. Does anyone know why?

I hear there were audio dropout problems.

Wow, already? Let's hope this means a reissue minus the audio problems comes out soon.

From what I heard it was pulled because during an interview segment with Cameron Crowe you can hear The Kink's "You Really Got Me" in the background.

I got the free poster today, it's a beaut. I definitely need to get a frame for it.

Watched most of this recently. Stopped at "Stairway to Heaven", which is really where the film peaks. The soundtrack album, but not the film, was reissued on Blu-ray audio a few years ago. I guess when they started the process of making this DVD release they wanted to do a straight-up version with no fantasy sequences but for legal reasons were not allowed. Kind of a shame that never came to pass because you could probably have made an interesting concert film and perhaps a separate doc of all the backstage stuff too.

The 2003 release of other concert footage stands up way better, for showing the band as they were in their earliest stages, and the footage from Earl's Court in 75 and Knebworth 79 stand up better on their own too.
