Lee Can't Watch First Film
Moviemaker Spike Lee can't watch his breakthrough 1986 movie She's Gotta Have It because the film was "so raw" he'd rip himself to pieces.
Lee insists he's proud of every movie he has made but he knows he'd have huge problems with his first feature - if he was ever prepared to watch it again.
He explains, "It's painful for me, because I was so raw as a filmmaker then, and I'd really tear the film apart if I revisited it. I'd rather not put myself through that torture... I just can't watch it."
So much for a Criterion with retrospective materials

That would make a great commentary though: "Aw Shiiiiiit, what the hell was I thinking?!"

Didn't Wes Anderson harbor negative feelings towards Bottle Rocket for awhile?

Spike already recorded a commentary for the Criterion laser, which could simply be recycled here.
