I think he wants to go, but the opening suggests the cleaner guy is beginning to feel his age too. I think how next week turns out depends entirely on what Jesse wants. The rehearsal and dinner scenes were absolutely great though. That's a hell of a way to spellbound an audience.

This is the best television show that I've had the pleasure of watching. Ever.

For me, the genius of last night's episode was:

Walt discovering that the police are investigating Gale's murder not by seeing the police photos or the notebook, but by Hank putting on the ridiculous karaoke DVD (with Thai subtitles?); the juxtaposition of Hank's laughing and Walt's terror was incredible.

I thought that was sadness more than terror, but self awareness might be much for him. Those subs were Thai by the way.

I just caught up with the last episode last night, and agree it was one of the best in a while. I particularly loved the part

where Jesse sees that the money has been stolen, and just nonchalantly proceeds to his bed with that girl...to play video games!

I want to know where Jesse's newfound love of go-karts will take us this season.

That was pretty heartbreaking when Walt wouldn't go go-karting with him.

Everything involving Jesse that episode was TV perfection.

Taking Walt from the "I'm gonna save Jesse!" action hero cold open to the end, where he's been so emasculated by Gus and Skyler that he practically begs Hank to get back on his trail

is a perfect example of how Gilligan and company can reverse field yet still keep the twists plausible.

"...vehicles." The writers of this show have absolute faith in their audience to pick up on nuance. I haven't really seen anything like it on television, ever.

I think the biggest punch had to have come from Jesse. Walter's barely a cog now. What do you mean by vehicles though? I must have missed that since I was busy during much of the first half.

Oh doy. I really need to listen better though the way that scene was staged made me think that anyway.

The final 16 episode order has been agreed to and begins shooting in early 2012.
