LA SIGNORA SENZA CAMELIE on DVD/Blu for March confirmed on Twitter.

This is in the background on MoC's Twitter. I'm confidently assuming it isn't The Elephant Man, but that is the first thing that came to mind.

Hallelujah! Definitely looks like Jean Epstein to me, but I've never seen that sculpture (or whatever it is) before.

Yes! I know the only thing they were planning before was Usher, so I'd guess either that fell back into place, or they've set their sights on something else (like the glorious Finis terrae, for which an HD transfer exists [-o< ).

I would be beside myself with joy if it was a 'Brittany' box set. In fact just thinking about it I looked up and there I was, next to me.

MoC has another Twit tease up in the background:
That's one hell of a gangsta pose that Jean's got.

...there are three titles we'll be able to announce later this month, and they're post-COLOSSAL and post-SCHLOSS.

Some good and some bad news from Twitter:
In a couple of weeks, we're going to be announcing every single MoC title that's going to be released until the end of this year.
Known already: August is COLOSSAL YOUTH and SCHLOSS VOGELOD. September is HARAKIRI and THE IRON HORSE. That's where we're upto so far. So we're talking about October and November titles (no releases in December).
Regarding Die Nibelungen:
Sorry. Definitely not this year, we have to simultaneously release with the Germans and they haven't scheduled anything yet.

Apparently Ballad of Narayama is one of the Oct/Nov titles.

Wouldn't be surprised if MoC and CC both released Island of Lost Souls in time for Halloween. A Blu of Kwaidan would complement Souls quite nicely actually but I don't think it's been released in Japan even.

Despite the disappointing, but unsurprising, news on Die Nibelungen, I'm still hoping for some more early German cinema in the next announcements. Some more Italian cinema from the times of neorealismo until Antonioni wouldn't go amiss either.

Who's that playing in the sandpit on the Twitter page? Ford?

Yes, John Ford with camera crew dug in for a SFX shot of train or buggy passing overhead, presumably...

Oh dear... the Germans haven't even managed to get "Metropolis" out yet...

That's quite outstanding

, but doesn't really surprise me. The German DVD market is quite shite compared to the treasures available in Britain or Italy.
