You all know that you are just setting yourselves up for Arrow to release Getting Any? instead of any other Kitano don't you?

(I wouldn't be that upset by a Blu upgrade of Getting Any? together with Takeshis' though! Hint, hint!)

Pre-Zatoichi Kitano is long overdue on blu, so I'll take anything I can get - but man, would Getting Any? be a letdown.

My vote goes to Kids Return, without any contest. Been waiting for a Blu of that for ages.

Hana-Bi, Kikujiro and Dolls coming from Third Window in September, October & November respectively so that evidently rules them out from Arrow

PS.: The TWF titles are 2k masters and will be on Blu.

Would like to see Arrow release some more of the sort of 80s teen comedy/romantic films.

There's a whole load of them that I'm sure don't have UK Blu Ray releases.

Better Off Dead, The Sure Thing, Valley Girl, Can't Buy Me Love, One Crazy Summer, Secret Admirer, Mischief, Pretty In Pink, Some Kind of Wonderful etc

Matinee by Joe Dante would be great as well. Watched this on DVD today, and would love to see how it looks with a new transfer. They already did the 'Burbs with a lot of input from Joe so hopefully this one isn't too far fetched.

As much as I hope that Arrow will maintain a focus on new to disc releases, I'd imagine there are a lot of former Anchor Bay titles that would be ideal for them to snatch up. The Dutch Verhoevens come immediately to mind, though I'm sure there are many others ripe for the picking.

Body Double (1984) by De Palma would fit into Arrow's collection like a glove; it is also significantly sleazier than his other films (yes, even more so than Dressed to Kill) and it would be interesting to have some good critical writing and supplements about it. Plus, De Palma in HD always looks excellent (and lossless audio for the Pino Donaggio score would be a great upgrade). There's already a Twilight Time BD and another in Germany (presumably the same), so an HD master is out there, but it is owned by Sony: are they receptive to a deal with Arrow?

No.

Which is why, despite approximately a gazillion requests for this title, Arrow won't be bringing it out any time soon.

(The same applies to all other Sony/Columbia/TriStar-owned titles, of course.)

Is it likely Tombs of the Blind Dead would be passed uncut now?

Would there be potential for new scans/transfers of Deep Red, City of the Living Dead, Torso etc in a couple of years?

Both Victor Erice's Spirit of the Beehive and Elem Klimov's Come and See appear to be OOP - surely Arrow or MoC won't be able to resist? The latter, as far as I'm aware, doesn't have an HD transfer readily available but Spirit of the Beehive has been available in Spain for a while.

Come and See was rumoured to be a 2015 Blu-Ray from Kino.

Spirit of the Beehive would really be appreciated. I remember I read about that film in my teens and still haven't seen it...I'm sure Arrow Academy or Masters of Cinema will pick it up one day if it's available (or even perhaps BFI, though they are completely unpredictable in what they will and won't release).

It would be nice if Arrow looked into resolving whatever has been preventing Willard from being released on dvd anywhere in the world. It would be a high profile title and a major coup if they could work that out. Strange that what was once a staple at just about any video rental place has been long unavailable.

Crime Wave (John Paizs, 1985) would be a perfect addition to the Arrow catalogue. It's a cult comedy that has been long unavailable, except on VHS, but is considered a Canadian prairie postmodern classic. It was recently restored in 2k by TIFF, and is available on iTunes in Canada. The new restoration looks fantastic, but I'd love to see a physical release featuring Paizs' short films.

Unfortunately, despite Altman's Popeye being a Paramount title in the US (and therefore potentially licensable...maybe not to Arrow, but certainly Eureka) it's Disney-distributed internationally. So alternatively, I'm hoping for Short Cuts, Images, The Player, Buffalo Bill or A Wedding. Very happy with todays announcement of 3 Women, a film I only saw recently and really enjoyed (making this the fourth Altman title to hit Blu-ray in the UK, after Fox's MASH, Arrow's The Long Goodbye and Eureka's Nashville).

As for Lumet's The Hill, it was one of the ex-MGM titles that Warner acquired so they now control it...which is a shame for collectors, since Warner don't seem to want to work with smaller labels at the moment (except maybe Criterion). I'd like Arrow or Eureka to release The Verdict (Fox) or Child's Play (Paramount) as they seem to be two of his best films that are potentially available to license. It's a shame so many of his films are either with Warner or Sony, two studios that haven't been particularly co-operative with UK boutique labels.

Since you got My Darling Clementine from Fox, it'd be great to see The Ox-Bow Incident in the Arrow Academy lineup if MoC hasn't gotten there first.

Wanted to add my voice to the chorus clamouring for Ruiz in HD. Also, Bergman's Hour of the Wolf from MGM, please. If you can, port over the Japanese Blu-Ray of Hard Boiled and restore The Killer in-house.
