Does that mean that folks on the East coast need to log in at midnight to order this item because it might be sold out by the morning?black&huge wrote: Wed Jun 23, 2021 8:32 pm Just a reminder for all us folks on the west coast the sale starts tomorrow (thursday) at 9 pm PT. Those Blood for Dracula specs are mighty fine sounding
Correct on both accounts. The site kept crashing and the mystery title is Beyond Darknessdwk wrote: Fri Jun 25, 2021 1:37 am Severin's site often crashes during the sale, so I wouldn't expect to be able to buy anything at 9/12.
Looking at the image of the mystery title they posted on facebook and I'm almost 100% sure it is Beyond Darkness
...and the price wasn't too outrageous either, given the 4K UHD element.black&huge wrote: Wed Jun 23, 2021 8:32 pm Just a reminder for all us folks on the west coast the sale starts tomorrow (thursday) at 9 pm PT. Those Blood for Dracula specs are mighty fine sounding
What was once called “fiendish” (Orlando Sentinel), “an obnoxious boil” (Washington Post) and “easily one of the worst films I’ve ever seen” (Gene Siskel) is today hailed as “genius” (Junkee), “a feminist masterpiece” (Purple Revolver) and “an unapologetically weird classic” (NME): With her adult life falling apart, a distraught woman (Phoebe Cates) accidentally unleashes her imaginary childhood friend Drop Dead Fred – the late great Rik Mayall of THE YOUNG ONES in his sole U.S. comedy feature – to wreak booger-flicking, poo-smearing vengeance on those who’ve wronged her. Marsha Mason (THE GOODBYE GIRL), Tim Matheson (NATIONAL LAMPOON’S ANIMAL HOUSE) and Carrie Fisher co-star in this “untouchable post punk classic” (Den Of Geek) from the executive producer of HIGH FIDELITY and THE BIG LEBOWSKI, now scanned in 2K with all-new Special Features for the first time ever in America.

A decade after co-writing NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, writer/director John Russo gathered members of George Romero’s Pittsburgh crews to film a new shocker fueled by equal parts grisly grindhouse jolts and ‘80s satanic panic: Fleeing her pervy alcoholic stepfather (Lawrence Tierney of RESERVOIR DOGS infamy), a hitchhiking teen (Melanie Verlin) is abducted by a family of crazed homicidal rednecks for an ordeal of graphic butchery, shag carpet and devil worship. John Amplas (MARTIN) co-stars in this “greasy, grimy guilty pleasure” (DVD Talk) featuring gore effects by Tom Savini and executive produced by Sam Sherman (DRACULA VS. FRANKENSTEIN) – released in some US markets as BACKWOODS MASSACRE and seized in the UK as a DPP 39 ‘Video Nasty’ – now scanned in 4K from the negative of the long-rumored uncut version with all-new Special Features.

Hopefully my copy will ship some day and I'll be able to share in that enthusiasm.Blutarsky wrote: Wed Aug 18, 2021 8:27 pm The Blood for Dracula UHD is shaping up to be one of my favorite releases this year. Excellent presentation, great bonus features, and overall amazing packaging. I have never been a massive fan of Morrissey’s work, but this release really makes me love the movie for all of its campy, trashy glory.
Mine had a misaligned glued spine that caused the top of the spine to simply be an awkard "skin tag" of sorts. I also sent an email with pics asking to return it for another copy. We're in the same line waiting for who knows how long.fdm wrote: Thu Aug 19, 2021 4:16 am Mine shipped, big old corner dent. Now just waiting to see if/when Severin responds to my pictures (for it and Santa Sangre too)... just can't win here in my cardboard hell.
Due to the impossibility of the PERFECT or PRISTINE Slipcover or Box Set, most of these items that we sell will have minor imperfections from time to time, especially as they travel from distributor to shipping facility to customer. Please expect to occasionally receive slipcovers and box sets that have slightly dinged corners, light creases, scuffs, worn edges, etc. These type of imperfections are inherent to the entire manufacturing and distributing process and are to be expected. For these reasons, we will only be considering replacement requests to items with severe damage that was obviously incurred during shipping. Replacement requests for items that we determine to be minor imperfections will not be honored.
