Great, I need that time.

I just got back to Pittsburgh from the NY. I actually drove there and spend this weekend just for Sunday's marathon screen. I can't really put this whole experience in words. I think that I don't have any more dreams left to come true for the time being.
Few things I notice -

1. There were several scenes, where you can see the characters talking, but can't hear the dialogs, you can only hear Shankar's spending background score. This could be because of damages, I am not sure, but certainly was very odd. I can check my Indian DVD, but it will be hard for me to compare now, after 8 hours drive.

According to the disclaimers before every film started, The World of Apu was damaged the most due to the fire. Amazingly, I think that this film gor the best picture quality compared to the others.

2. There are multiple typos in the subtitles, specially in those for the names. One example is Kajol. There is scene early in The World of Apu, where Apu asked his newly wed "what's in your eyes" or something like that. She replied "Kajol" (which is significant because Apu's son's name is Kajol). It was spelled wrong. There were some more, but I can't remember them now. I guess it's a minor issue

P.S. During Aparajito screening, Noah Baumbach was sitting right in front of me. So, the MoMA screening on last Wednesday was only for Pather Pnchali, not for all?

Anyways, it was overall a lifetime experience for me. I hope I will live enough to tell my grandchildren this story.

It'd be a bit much for them to expect a star-studded red carpet in the evening for a 6 1/2 hour marathon screening that would need to end well after midnight.

I didn't know any detail about that Wednesday screening. I only saw the picture Criterion posted on their FB page.

Milestone Film: It's official! The wondrous, incredible ROCCO AND HIS BROTHERS by Luchino Visconti has been restored to 4K and will be presented at Cannes by Martin Scorsese, The Film Foundation and Gucci. The North American release will be by... wait for it ... Milestone!
The details below of this new restoration screening @ Cannes Classics 2015...
• Rocco e i suoi fratelli (Rocco and His Brothers) by Luchino Visconti (1960, 2h57)
A presentation of The Film Foundation. 4K restoration carried out by Cineteca di Bologna at L’Immagine Ritrovata Laboratory, in association with Titanus, TF1 Droits Audiovisuels and The Film Foundation. Restoration with funding provided by Gucci and The Film Foundation.
I'm wondering whether Criterion could still conceivably handle the DVD/BR release if Milestone is covering the theatrical?... This is an inconclusive & somewhat enigmatic exchange on Facebook...
Noach Kowalski Sweet! Will you release it on Blu-ray, or you only have the theatrical rights?

Good. This gives me all weekend to come up with an unrealistic prediction for the August roster.

Tapatalk is not a very good application. I have hit reply once on numerous occasions and the post shows up twice. I have even cancelled a post beforehand and it still shows up. Ugh.
