I think this film is cursed to never have any good key art, from the original poster through to every single physical media release.

I find it hilarious too, like a vanity project went through somehow. Not sure if it's on purpose or just rubbish art, but I can't say I don't like it (because Chow just looks so sweet on this main pic).

I do not know that this is a Worst DVD Cover or a Best DVD Cover, but it is definitely a DVD cover.

There's no shortage of Amityville knock-offs (and assorted artwork). As this cover amply proves.

RedLetterMedia did a video about some of these films (which all seem to stream on Tubi). They also examined the
commonality of some of these in terms of recognizable theme or idea related to a movie of the past, i.e. 'exorcist,'
'Amityville,' and 'shark.'

Bonus points for not featuring the correct movie title? Though perhaps it's smart to squat on both names, the title of this is Amityverse: Infinity, and it's one of a trilogy (so far) of "Amityverse" anthology movies. This one includes a musical segment, paper bag puppets, and "Amityville Toothache." (Two of the eight commenters on that trailer have something to do with the project.)

Makes sense that this sort of con slop might be considered the Tubi brand, as watching anything there shows support for our current president.

This was so bad that VCI was shamed into actually changing it:

So they also had to change it because it's a blu-ray & not a UHD?

Hmm, never heard of it despite living less than a mile from Northville (and not much more than that when the film was being shot). IMDb’s trivia actually states: “The movie was shot entirely in the American state of Michigan in the U.S.A.” which is putting a little too fine a point on it.

Co-director William Dear is something of a local hero for moving from directing regional TV ads to working on Spielberg projects back in the 80s. Hadn’t realized he directed the cult video collection “Elephant Parts” for Michael Nesmith who apparently contributed music to “Northville Cemetery Massacre”.

It makes sense if you've seen the movie, but it's still a bad cover. Especially when the MVD release had this classic art.

I will grant that the slipcover is cool, but there is also way way way too much text on it and it looks off as a result. Why are the full credits on it like it’s a poster?

It was a disease in the 60s & 70s, particularly among Hollywood graphic artists. I remember seeing quite a few posters that were actually pretty good & I would have considered buying if only they didn't have so much text all over them. One particular annoyance was when there is copyright info 1/4 (or even more) from the bottom of the poster.

I love it when the ferry sinks and they rescue all three Bruce Willis characters from the water. Perfect ending to the trilogy.

It there a counter-shot of what Willis is seeing on the back of those steelbook cases?

Also, it is quite impressive that the poster makers for Dr Zhivago created a pyramidal composition entirely involving Julie Christie's bosom taking up one side of it!
