There is literally a gloved hand in that photo.

Maybe literally but actually there is an ungloved one, and what's more poised for contact

Or not, because it's being used to hold the outer edge very carefully.

So what Italian scope film do we think that photo is of?

The facebook picture is larger. I think that there is a face on the left side of the frame, but can't figure out who it is.

Not necessarily Italian, as Criterion contracts out quite a few of their projects (at various stages) to L'Immagine Ritrovata (part of the Apu Trilogy being an example).

As for the picture, the face dwk mentions looks like its screaming/has hands on side of head. Do our photoshop experts have any editing tricks to make things clearer?

Could be one of the recent Rosi restorations (LUCKY LUCIANO or MATTEI AFFAIR).

Justin Theroux stops by to talk Mulholland Dr.

edit: The criterion website has added the interview as well as another to the disc.

That tote bag looks heavy. He must've been in the closet.

No idea where to put this but someone posted on Criterion's Facebook that Sweden is putting Ingmar Bergman and Greta Garbo on their paper money

They announced the plans for that in 2011, but I think it's just now happening.

Per Wikipedia:

Astrid Lindgren on the 20 kronor banknote; Purple
Evert Taube on the 50 kronor banknote; Orange
Greta Garbo on the 100 kronor banknote; Blue
Ingmar Bergman on the new 200 kronor banknote; Green
Birgit Nilsson on the 500 kronor banknote; Red
Dag Hammarskjöld on the 1000 kronor banknote; Brown

I hope I'm not the only one who initially read Birgit Nilsson as Brigitte Nielsen (who is Danish). They could at least put Dolph Lundgren in his Masters of the Universe garb on the back of the 5 kronor coin!

How would one go about acquiring a Garbo or Bergman banknote in the US? Can you go to one of those international currency exchanges like they have in airports and some banks? Can you buy foreign currency online?

Haven't seen either of his films that came out this year, but he's got good taste.

Janus Films just posted a poster of Whistle Down The Wind on Facebook.

Does anyone know if this has recently been restored, or is this an old poster?

On the occasion of reaching Facebook 300k fans:
Just did it, now I have a $10 gift certificate just sitting in my account. Doesn't appear I need to use it today, or anything.

It does also mention to think about saving it for a flash sale, which is certainly ominous...

(I, for one, am about two or three away from my $50 credit, so these two bonuses combined will let me get one of the big $125 box sets for about $2.50)

What a nice surprise. I'll save my certificate for the flash sale for Dressed To Kill

This is actually not working for me. When I log in with FB information, then I can see the 10 bucks credit. When I log in using my actual account information, I can't see that 10 bucks credit. So, if I want to use that 10 bucks, I have to log in with FB to place an order. Therefore I can't use the store credits assigned to my actual account. Also, points I get with "FB" purchase will not be showing up on my actual account. And off course, I can't combine all my credits!
