Sounds like it might be an extra for Criterion's rumored upcoming edition of
Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.

Personally I'm hoping for Faster Pussycat Kill Kill!

I'd love that too, but I doubt the Russ Meyer estate will let go of it. They've already released their own (ridiculously expensive) Blu-ray edition. Dolls has been rumored to be in the works for some time and was likely hinted at in the New Years drawing.

FASTER PUSSYCAT has a bare bones blu ray release with an excellent transfer available direct from RMF (I got mine from Diabolikdvd).

Anna Karina visited the Criterion offices, but I can't figure out what Godard film this would be for that Criterion still has rights to / hasn't already released unless they're doing new interviews for a Made in USA upgrade? Or I guess it could be for one of her non-JLG films?

Karina is in town this week for engagements at BAM, Museum of the Moving Image, and Film Forum. Probably just a coincidence.

Rialto has a new restoration of Band of Outsiders, Karina was at the TCM Festival last week for the premiere so guessing she's in the country for that and the Anna & Jean-Luc movies at Film Forum.

A video of her in Criterion closet was just uploaded:

I'd like that out of print Pierott le Fou.

Do you think they restocked all their JLG titles just for her visit? I can't recall anyone ever grabbing something OOP from the closet.

I think that's definitely within the realm of possibility. I find it hard to believe that they'd say no to Anna

Any Heckerling visited Criterion... could that Happy Endings joke about a Clueless Criterion be coming to fruition?

Eigeman visited recently and looked for Contempt as per the wife's request and was told it was out of print.

CC tweeted Terence Davies having lunch at their offices.
I certainly hope they were discussing the release of Distant Voices Still Lives.

Damn. I know Paramount doesn't care at all anymore but I always figured Clueless would be one they'd be more likely to hold on to. The other day when Criterion posted they were talking to her I figured maybe Fast Times... (or Sony was demanding a Look Who's Talking box set). And I don't put a lot of stock in all of their posts, but if she's there talking specifically about Clueless... Unless of course they were just interviewing her for shits and giggles (there have been a few random interviews).
I remember the Paramount Blu-ray looking decent, but the special features were all fluff. The film does deserve something better so I'm actually now hoping they have it. But if they got this and Election, I'm wondering what else they may have got hold of from Paramount.

The interview says there's a retrospective of her work going down in New York, so it may be completely unconnected. But I'd be a lot more willing to believe that if it was just a generic career-spanning interview, rather than one where literally the only film they ask about is
Clueless.

I bet the supplements will be way existential.

If they do this right, if they are doing it, this could be a very exciting release. The various cultural strands surrounding the film remain some of the most interesting left over of the '90s. Not just the obvious Gen X and valley girl stuff or the decades weird but great obsession with adapting classic literature to the modern era, but also how the film has no traditional WASP protagonist, the closest is Murphy whose defining characteristic is being frumpy and out of place. In light of this year that makes Clueless' semi-utopian view very interesting. There's no way this could live up to what my mind is already making it out to be.
