I really just want the announcements so I can stop seeing the "WHERE ARE THE ANNOUNCEMENTS" posts online. That and an end to the "what will be spine 1000" discussion. Of course this is the one Criterion drags out...lol

They're working extra hard to make the Cluny Brown cover worse still which takes precedents over the announcements.

They are currently filming the movie that will be Spine 1000. We will have to wait till it premieres at Sundance before they announce it.

This could be a wacky idea but it’s currently 7:40am in Tokyo. Could they wait to later in evening to announce so it’s a decent time in there. Say 10pm our time.

I imagine this has to be coming from Toho who is fairly hands on in regards to Godzilla releases. They made Tokyo Shock pull two DVDs from the market because they included commentaries and supplements they had not signed off on. I imagine Criterion is just quadruple checking to avoid similar headaches.

I don’t get why they won’t just announce everything that’s not the Godzilla set though. I do think the 18th, if it even happens then and not Friday (note that their wording doesn’t say they’re coming tomorrow)— either way— will make this the latest announcements have been since the early pre-board days of the label
