The booklet was inadvertently not inserted into several of these during replication.

Can you both PM me your address and I will send you one.

Thanks, Kev. Never used PayPal before and found it very easy to use. Will confirm when I've received the disc.

Picked up my DVDs from Eureka at university today. They arrived on Tuesday last week which is fantastic considering I only ordered on Sunday. Very well packaged as always, although the corner of the Spione cover had a little tear from it was slipped into the case I guess. Thanks once again for the great deals! More of your early German cinema in the next sale please!

Pre-Ordered all three February releases: M (Blu-ray), City Girl (Blu-ray) and There's Always Tomorrow for £46.45 from Amazon.co.uk. :)

Call me crazy but £15 is still a lot for a Blu; I wonder how long it'll take until prices fall down a bit; I like Criterion's practice of marking their Blu's at the same price as the SD, and the fact that the BFI usually sell their blus cheaper than the SDs; but for me; £15 for one film is quite a bit.

Do you really believe that Criterion will drop their prices? Blu-ray it's a good way to justify the high prices in an unstable economy and the era of downloading. But, i think that when production costs go down, MoC will act accordingly.

Indeed. MoC/Eureka are my favourite DVD company by far but the one negative against them is the price of their Blu-rays relative to their DVDs. Although, maybe the RRPs aren't the problem and it's just online sellers don't discount their Blu-rays as much.

I'm just hoping we get a pre-order sale for M direct from Eureka! =P~

BDs cost roughly twice as much to author and manufacture. If we sold more, we'd be able to price them better.

Don't really understand the negativity: Criterion RRP is $39.99 for DVDs and BDs -- that's £24.80 GBP. MoC BD RRP is £24.99 (SOUL POWER BD was £22.99).

Yeah I agree but I think most people happily wait for 50% off sales for their Criterions as they are rather expensive otherwise. We don't have that luxury with MoC although Eureka's sales are very handy. I've bought virtually all my MoCs through them. Are there plans to make the Eureka sales a monthly thing?

Yes I didn't mean to be negative, just a student trying to buy as many MoCs as I can. As TMDaines says, if you wait for the sales you can get a Crit Blu for £12. I guess I just wish an MoC was the same price (and I know the eureka sales are around that or cheaper for the blu's, so i can always wait)

MoC discount their titles after some months, Criterion doesn't. Also, Criterions have the same price no matter the format. Nick, do you think that now you started releasing some titles on BD only, your costs will be lower so you'll be able to charge less?

It doesn't really work like that -- our BD authoring/manufacturing costs next month are the same they were six months ago. There was a drop in BD authoring/manufacturing costs in Q1 2009, but we're already factoring that in. Any savings made from "not putting out a DVD edition" are cancelled out by the fact that we're not selling any DVDs. There are no specific BD savings to be had from that situation -- except that we'll have more time to work on other, new BDs (which is what we want to do!) :)

Well I am happy! I so far have 3 of the blus (#1 Sunrise, #3 Tokyo Sonata, #5 For All Mankind) and I think they are among the best blu-rays I have, both in content (great films) and picture quality. It's a shame if you can't afford them, but for me this is the closest I'll ever be to watching these films in a cinema. And they make a great reason for inviting friends over to watch quality stuff. But this makes it even more expencive as I end up serving tea, coffe, bear and snacks! Oh dear. :?

I think I do. But you never know what comes over for a good film and some warmth. It's -12 again today outdoors. I want summer!

Not if he's inviting his friends over to watch The Exterminating Angel. Now that evening could end up being very expensive indeed.

Purchased. I'd buy nearly every new release if they were offered this way.
