actually, i would think it's better to send it to
[email protected]
when i send an email to newsletter, i get 3 replies (i guess its forwarded to all the employees) but when i sent to matt or angie i hardly get a response. for the most part, angie probably can't tell which mail is sent to her and which is sent to newsletter. (i only assume that last line since i work for a similar enterprise.)

That's probably true. I was just excited that someone actually acknowledged that I was out there sending in messages and that they responded to me. As was stated elsewhere by others, I have been surprised and how many of our emails on this issue seem to be ignored and I was pleasantly surprised that Angie Bucknell answered and followed through for me.

I got my Rohmer replacement in the mail. I'm not sure if someone mentioned this earlier, but it comes in a flat envelope and it's just a matter of tucking the fold into the side to create the box. It's sturdier than the other box and is much more snug. And the nude Chloe on the inside is more secure.
Someone mentioned that they can easily fit the new box into the old one. With the security rectangle on the inside of the original box, this is a little hard to do, and the width sticks out a little. Though, what's great about the new box is that there is no security rectangle sticky (for obvious reasons).
I'm curious if anyone has idea of what to do with the old box. For some reason I dont want to throw it away.

not a clue how to ship an empty box without it getting crunched.

Personally I have several ideas, but that's okay: most online vendors don't have any idea either about how to ship full ones without them getting crunched. Pity.

Well, I just got my SECOND replacement box. Seems as though the one Angie sent me didn't stop my original request. Good news is, this one is in better shape than the one I got earlier from her.
Anybody want one "slightly" wrinkled replacement box? Or does 25 bucks on Ebay sound fair enough????

I received my third Rohmer replacement box yesterday! I only requested once - the day it was announced on their web site. I also received two Brazil booklets. Oh my....

After acting on a tip from one of the forum users, I contacted Angie at Criterion about finally getting my replacement Rohmer box and it arrived today at last. I'm in Atlantic Canada and, all told, the replacement box took about a week to arrive after Angie confirmed that one would be sent.

So I got my shipping notice for The Fallen Idol on the 9th, and I still haven't received it. It was shipped via standard mail, so it should have been here by last Thursday at latest. I called DVDplanet's customer service line; they explained another copy would be mailed if I haven't received my disc by the 21st.
Maybe if I'm lucky I can't watch the film by Christmas...

I'm still waiting on mine too (which shipped on the 9th as well), if that's any consolation.

I have had quite a lot of lost shipment from DVD Planet lately. In the past, they are willing re-ship the package to me after I email them about it.
However, they did not respond to an email I sent last week. I inquire them about the "Hands Over the City" and "Sweetie" DVDs, shipped on 10/20, that I still have not received.
Same with bjeggert82 and souvenir, my "The Fallen Idol" was also shipped on 11/9 and you know it, I am still waiting for it.
The "Veronique" DVD was shippe on 11/16, which is too early to tell now, but I fear the worse.
I had ordered from Amazon, DDD, and DVD Empire frequently but I never have such high rate of lost package with a single retailer.

dvdplanet has been really slow to answer emails recently (took about a week the last time). And I'm awaiting a response for one I sent on the 15th (relating to that previous email/transaction/etc).
Consider these two factors: last year dvdplanet seemingly disappeared while the deepdiscountdvd sale was on (I guess they borrow staff?); this year they have a small sale of their own going on until the 26th. I think the ddd sale's been extended until the 23rd too. So may be a while.
Probably better off calling them once 3+ weeks go by?

Just received my disc for The Fallen Idol today... At least now I can watch it over Thanksgiving break.
Even though I just saw this film at the Oak Streek Cinema on the U of M campus like three weeks ago, I still can't wait to watch it again!

DVD Planet shipped Veronique on 16 and I received it on the 19th.
They shipped Fallen Idol on the 13th and I received it yesterday (20th).
Go figure.

How was your Veronique packaging? Was it damaged or bent?
