Here's a winner I spotted while browsing the foreign film section at Virgin... it was right next to Cries and Whispers!

Sadly, I have seen this. Is comedy from "El Gordo" Porcel, who was a hit in Latin american TV. It was raunchy comedy in the early 80's for latinos.

The bottom half of that one actually isn't too bad, even if it might be a stock photo.

Not related, but why are some TV DVD's split up like that, IE Season One Volume One?

The design of the whole cover is really not that bad, just a bit clunky. The only things I really hate about it are the fact that the figures are clearly photoshopped in (why not a full color background? or duotone figures?) and the "fingerprint" watermark. The cover for part 1 of the 1st season is a little better:

This was a long season, 27 one-hour episodes. They were probably not sure iif anyone would buy an 8-disc, $60-$80 set of the first season of this show, so they hedged their bets a little.

This one caught my eye.
I'll need laser surgery to repair the damage.

There are a lot of bad Asian covers (from, I'm assuming, small distributors.
At least it's hard to imagine that "Strand Releasing" is a major player).

I think Strand also released Tony Takitani which was a better looking cover.

This cover doesn't only try to cram as much words as possible, but it was also made by the department of redundancy department:

I like how they inform you twice of "Hits and History".

Hits and History is the name of the tour and also his backing band. It's obviously excessive for a DVD cover, but accurate.

It's the same basic formula for every Mel Gibson cover:

A decent documentary, featuring Ted "I'm Not Gay, I'm Just Extra Happy" Haggard, but the DVD cover is dullsville. And I'm no engineer, but the proportions on that sign and the posts it's on are all for shite.

Certainly not in comparison to the cover for Pelosi's other film:

I hate New York, New York, but I wouldn't wish that abomination upon any release; I can see what they were going for (EDIT- actually, I couldn't: I thought it was an imitation of Hirschfeld at first, not Hirschfeld himself), but there's still no excuse (EDIT- there is, and I'm willing to admit that this isn't so obviously terrible as I originally thought- still don't like it, but that's my problem).

One of the stupidest taglines I've ever heard.
