Of course, it's all speculative. The only thing we know for sure is that Walt survives another year.
Then why would he be taking an Rx for it?
I did think about that not long after posting! We don't actually know what the pills are that he's ingesting; it's only clear that he's not as healthy as he had been a year earlier. Regardless of whether the cancer has come back or not, the full beard and hair does seem to indicate that Walt is no longer interested in maintaining the Heisenberg look.

Andre's right about Skyler and Marie being sisters. Not sure how that slipped by me.

Somebody put together
this awesome but SPOILERIFIC tribute to the show. Quite stunning stuff. I hope AMC uses it before the final 8 show.

"Breaking Bad": White Supremacist Fable?
Ran across this at Salon and thought you guys might like to have a look.
I'm not much of a fan of the show but this seems like a bit of a stretch.

It has a few blatant lies (for example it is Fring who takes out the cartel and he is decidedly not white). The biggest fallacy though is the assumption that since Walter is the protagonist that he is the good guy. He's probably become the most villainous character on the show.

Also, virtually all of the criticisms only apply to season 5, the season which uh hasn't actually ended yet. Moreover, where Walter does 'triumph' over extant power structures, it's not through some Dances With Wolvesesque white guy superiority, it's because he's a really horrible person- unless the show wishes us to believe that we secretly root for poisoning children, too.

It's a reprint from The New Inquiry -- explains a few things.

The author might regret it once...
Todd and his uncle's quasi-white supremacist group kills Walter's family.

All five seasons to be re-mastered in 4K Ultra HD. The article mentions
On The Waterfront, is this the same transfer on the new Criterion disc?

I would think so. The notes inside the booklet state that Criterion's transfer comes from the 4K remaster of the film.

Update: Turns out the poster I put up was from last season. Sorry about that!

Sunday, July 15th was the date the (first half of the) 5th season premiered last year...so either it's a typo or we'll have to wait until Sunday, July 15th, 2018 to see the final episodes.
EDIT: Aw heck, you ruined my little joke.

The first half of the 5th season is set to be released on blu/DVD on June 4th. At a $66 list price for half a season on blu-ray I think I'll wait.

So long as you've already seen it, that sounds like a smart move. I don't own any of them, anticipating some sort of big boxset once everything's out.

I've never been a fan of the big complete series boxsets. They have some clever designs but lifting a massive 20 disc set just to get to that one episode I want to watch isn't worth the trouble (I imagine this one having all those unnecessary odds and ends like blue pop rocks and Los Pollos Hermanos coasters).

I'm with you outside of a few sets that really do it well (The X-Files, Deadwood, Seinfeld, I Love Lucy among them). But ultimately, I vastly prefer when a series is available for streaming (I sold my Twilight Zone DVD sets when it went up on Netflix, and won't pick up the Blu-ray sets unless it goes away from Netflix. Same went for Deadwood and HBO GO). I'd much rather have a reliable streaming interface for large series rather than 20-30 discs to juggle.

I'm actually really hoping for some cool fake-meth lab type gift box set to buy every episode of this. Hoping I can wait til XMAS and it's half price on Amazon this year.

I'd guess that it probably won't be out until after the final season Blu-ray set has run its course, and that may not even be out this year.

I've been sticking to watching this series on blu throughout, since I came in fairly late, so I still haven't actually seen the most recent half season- but I kind of resent getting charged an arm and a leg for nine episodes. The whole half season only it's treated in every way like a season unto itself thing is always a bit irritating to me, it seems like the primary effect is to charge full price for a box set with two thirds the normal number of episodes in it.

It'll likely be deeply discounted on release week, I wouldn't worry about it now when you'll probably be paying about $29.99 for it, and like anything else with its popularity, it can just be re-sold once you've watched it, sometimes for more than you paid.
EDIT: I just checked Blu-ray.com - the Fourth Season set has the same $65.99 MSRP, but was $24.99 on release week, and has been as low as $11.99 since. So I wouldn't fret too much about that MSRP figure.
