While I know you're just meme-ing, best to avoid that kind of thing again lest someone who is blessedly free from knowing that reference think you are namecalling, a bannable offense

The Belcourt just did a Stanley Donen retro series throughout April, so it would seem that’s the most likely explanation for SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN

LOL. Getting back to your original post I see Criterion's next Kubrick to be Lolita based on it being one of their laserdiscs

The way WB has opened their vaults for Criterion, a Singin In the Rain release would not surprise me. As I said about Lolita in previous post about it being CC laserdisc, same is true for Singin In the Rain, and Criterion loves to turn their old laserdiscs to blu-ray's.

You could be right but I doubt we will be getting it anytime soon since it's still available on the WB store.

I didn't see this mentioned anywhere on the forum, but on the latest Projection Booth podcast, Joseph McBride is interviewed about Other Side of the Wind and he says it will be released on Blu-ray/DVD by Criterion. He speculates it will be released within a year's time. He first mentions Criterion around 1:50:45 in the timeline.

Since it’s about time for one of my semi-annual plugs of Errol Morris’ Wormwood, if Criterion does indeed have a relationship with Netflix re: Other Side and Roma, I really hope they don’t pass up the chance to acquire one of the best works from another auteur they’ve prominently featured in the past.

Does that mean that those of us who stumped up the sponduliks in what seems like last century's crowdfunder will ultimately get a free Criterion edition?

As long as you didn't spend more then $15 on it, then you should be fine.

I would think so. I've been patiently waiting for my Blu-ray release, but once the Criterion/Netflix deal rumors started flowing I expected to just get a copy sent to me via the Indiegogo campaign.

It's about time. I hope they really pack on the supplements for this release.

I do hope they give Joe Frank some love in the supplements, like maybe include his radio sketch that After Hours was apparently inspired by.

Another link for AFTER HOURS.

Also, Wellesnet.com claims that McBride's statement about Criterion/Netflix/Welles was just speculation.

This offers no actual confirmation of anything but the present rumor. I think After Hours is quite plausible as a Criterion release, but right now it’s still a rumor

Ahmad Kiarostami has tweeted: "The restored 4K version of the Koker trilogy box-set is being released by the @Criterion, and they have done a fantastic job for the cover design. So excited about it!"
