eerik, while I appreciate the posting, any reason why you're double-posting these?

2 for 2 for great covers so far. Let's see what comes next to ruin that!

You mean both DVD and Blu-ray covers? No specific reason. It looks like the BD versions are uploaded first, which I then post here, and then update with cleaner DVD versions.

Agreed these two are wonderful, hope the autumn sonata cover redo is as good. Makes sense to have a Bergman month...

All of the covers so far are wonderful. That Rosselini/Bergman cover is very nice, and I, for one, like the yellow typeface. Will look wonderful if used in the spine. But that Autumn Sonata cover is just drop-dead gorgeous!

wow, the La Cage Aux Folles cover is absolutely perfect, as is the Autumn Sonata. really like the Rossellini/Bergman ones too as they're gonna look great in person

Slacker and Spy both look great, of course. a great month for covers!

I haven't seen the other two films but George Sanders is as much a part of Journey to Italy as Ingrid Bergman. I get what they're doing for the covers but still, kinda cold bros

They've got enough Sanders films in the wing that I'm sure they'll be obliged eventually to comment on him.

I'm sure he'll be pictured somewhere, perhaps on the inside of the digipak.

Or not - from the cast/credits listing on the film's page:

Katherine ... Ingrid Bergman
Alex ... Some Guy
Paul ... Who Cares
Marie ... Not Ingrid Bergman

Even though I hate digipacks with a vengeance, I have to admit the Shoah one is just stunning - incredible cover and the fold-out of the forest on the back makes me almost cry. One of my favorite CCs covers.

Am I the last one to notice that beginning with this month's announcements, Criterion is crediting the cover art designer at the bottom of the list of supplements?

No, that was first mentioned about a week ago.

I'm sure you're not the last one, but it was mentioned on the previous page of this thread - then again a reminder of a good thing can't hurt!

Shoah comes licensed from IFC?

Maybe not Shoah specifically, but certainly something. It seems from the packaging that there were other companies involved.

IFC acquired the rights to Shoah in 2010 and handled the theatrical re-release.

Not sure what part of the project he was involved with, but according to his twitter page, apparently Nick Wrigley helped out on it too. :D
