Hopefully it'll have the 3D version included. I have a 3D player but haven't been tempted enough to get the glasses - maybe this'll finally convince me.

So should we be expecting a three-release slate from now on from Indicator, with the rollout of Anti-Worlds label, or is this an outlier month as they initiate this new branch? I'm pretty impressed they were able to hold that number and only drop one title from the usual four, but just curious as to how it will impact this half of the label going forward.

I really hope not. I'm hoping a title was just delayed at the last minute.
As I'm not particularly interested in the titles Anti-Worlds is going after, it would be a disappointment to me if it impacted Indicator's usual release schedule in that way.

Why Won't They Release Even Numbers of What I Want?

I think it's better than expected for them to do 3 and 3, which still increases their output each month, totally understandable (and indicative of dedication to their fanbase) for a growing company especially as they undergo the transition to this change. We only know the first round of Anti-Worlds releases and it's very possible this will be a great side to the label. I'm just curious if it'll waver at all or hold to that numerical allotment, barring box-set months, but time will tell.

Now that we've figured out the title, I wonder what films could be in this set. What Columbia / Hammer titles remain unreleased, and what Studio Canal titles might they get access to?

Sony titles -
Creatures the World Forgot (1971)
The Pirates of Blood River (1962)
Sword of Sherwood Forest (1960)
Sony titles that were released by StudioCanal on DVD in UK -
The Brigand of Kandahar (1965)
The Crimson Blade (The Scarlet Blade)(1963)
The Devil-Ship Pirates (1964)

"Death & Deceit" could, then, be a boxed set dedicated to pirates and bandits. Makes sense.

I'd rather they saved those for a "Salty Seamen" boxset, personally.

I think Vinegar Syndrome already laid claim to that box set title.

I also don't think that Hammer made enough films featuring actual seamen. Even one of their pirate films features a distinctly freshwater variety, mainly because the budget didn't stretch to any on-ship action.

And the best of the pirate films, Captain Clegg, is already out on Blu from Final Cut ( I think). One of them, I think it was Blood River, was heavily cut before release because Hammer had a change of mind and wanted to go after the holiday kids audience. It started as an X before ending up as a U!

It actually went from X to A to U!
In the X version, you get the full piranha sequence (complete with lots of unconvincing-looking blood in the water), in the A version, piranhas merely get mentioned verbally, and in the U version the entire scene gets removed. I’m not sure how it subsequently explains the disappearance of the relevant character - maybe it doesn’t bother?

What’s the likelihood of any more Richard Fleischer & Joseph Losey Films?
