Just a little update, I received "Veronique" today. Still no sign of Hands Over the City", "Sweetie", and "Fallen Idol". Will send them an email again next week.

I just talked to dvdplanet today about a mia refund. They answered immediately, I explained the situation, my refund is in progress (they lost the returned items).

Probably just better off talking to them. Saves that week+ email lag that seems to be in effect. Could have those replacements in hand by the time they get around to your email...

Still no Veronique.

Adding: Sure enough, later the very same day of the phone call got an answer to my email of 11/15, indicating that the refund is in progress. So current dvdplanet email turnaround is about 7 days.

I was wondering the same thing. I found out the Jan 9 titles were moved to the 16.

DVDPlanet claims the DVD is in stock and ships within 24 hours, which is great since I preordered like 624 hours ago

transfer is stellar; soundtrack transfer is also excellent and you know how much in this movie the soundtrack is as import as the picture; it reminds me a lot of Tarkovski's work.

I didn't want to watch the extra just after the film (which I've already seen several years ago) :

really interesting (but I would have liked more extras) :

- a long and interesting sequence/documentary of Bresson on set during Mouchette shooting.
It's interesting to see how Brersson works with actors; btw the interview of the actor (oops, "model") who plays Marcel and who also played in Au Hasard Balthazard is kick-ass (so much that I still wondering if he was "acting" for the interview or if he really spoke his mind)
really fascinating to see Bresson looking at the camera; same way that you can see Tarkovski working (especially on the documentary for the set on The Sacrifice on the Arte release)- how Bresson can interfer in the chief-operator camera's work, altough he gives suggestion and show he is a bit upset by a choice, he respects the choice of his cameraman in the end

- another interview of Bresson (again, too interesting and then too short)

- the J.L Godard trailer (cut in 1967). It's more than a trailer. You read that Godard first denied that he cut this trailer (which is a bit stupid because you can't believe that this is not a Godard work, because it features his usual play-on-words that he used since A Woman is A Woman). Very interesting.

- The essay is too....scholastic...

and no, sorry, no 2 DVD set (just 1) and a classic amaray (the new one, translucid; which will not deteriorated a booklet when it is big (which is not the case here, it is just a 4 pages booklet)

Of course, this movie deserved a 2 DVD treatment. But Mouchette speaks for itself.
I think that Pickpocket was better in terms of extra (the Paul Shrader interview was a must-have for me, because this extra isn't in the MK2 release. Shrarder could have said a few words about Mouchette too, because we can see again and again -what I would call- l'art du geste - what we can see a lot in Taxi Driver (the close-up on Travis'hands over Betsy's desk office; the close-up on money-bills- circulation of money between from hands to hands; that's what we can see then again in Mouchette)

sorry for my bad English, it's early in the morning and I'm just French ;-)

Thanks for your answer. I received the DVD on Monday myself and watch the film right away. Never saw it before but I thought it was excellent. The transfer was really great, the commentary track (which I listened for about a half of it ) is really good and interesting as well. Haven`t watched the documentary`s yet though.

Really well recommended again!

I received a shipment notice today from DVDPlanet for Fires on the Plain and The Burmese Harp (street date for both: 03-13-07). I'm pleased, of course, but I wasn't expecting them this early. Has anyone else received shipping confirmation on these titles?

I got my 49th Parallel on Tuesday, shipped 2 day delivery, but the cover art card looked waterdamaged or something--like someone dumped bleach on it.

I called DVDplanet and they said they'll send a replacement right away as long as I send the damaged copy back. So I get the email confirmation for the replacement copy, and they're sending it media mail. I should receive it in about two weeks, if then.

Thanks, DVDplanet!

I received a shipping notice on Tuesday. Hasn't arrived yet (today is Thurs.), but I'd be happy if it arrived before the street date.

Somewhat unrelated, but this is the first time DVD Planet has sent me anything before the street date, I just got Muriel in the mail today.
