Other than the movie being a steaming pile of crap (plenty of those on UHD), who knows. Just typical VS over hyping a release.

Was it the Black Friday titles that they were overhyping and even the far less discerning members of the Blu-ray forum were like “Nah”? Just more of that

I guess I should close the loop on my complaints by saying my order did finally ship, but now I can’t add high quality titles like Executioner II to my order 😾

They “shipped” my order the day before announcements, but the tracking only just updated on Friday. How convenient that I couldn’t add anything for free and instead would have to pay for shipping (no free shipping tier during sales either). I should honestly be thanking them for saving me money!

"Meh" seems to be the general reaction to VS's announcements most months.

At least better than Nolan's films.

Doubly disappointed that they didn't port over Frozen Scream from the old DVD. That film is a glorious mess.

Today's Labs release is The Hand of Night a/k/a Beast of Morocco (1968).

This is really not the kind of thing we do here. Consider this a polite warning.

The next Cinematographe release is 54, with both the theatrical and director’s cuts though I assume only the former in 4K.

Yes, only the theatrical cut is in 4K:
For the final day of Summer Subscriber Week, we’re closing out the event with a party: the 4K UHD debut of the notorious cult favorite 54 (1998), presented in both its theatrical version (UHD + BD) and its Director’s Cut (BD), along with a heaping assortment of new extras, from Cinématographe!

Does anyone know if this issue with Batang West Side and Panasonic players was addressed by Kani and/or VS?

I recently got the disc in and it gives me the same error as nicwood mentions in my linked post to the blu ray dot com forum.

Yes, they investigated it and found no errors with the encode. After some back and forth I received a new disc from VS and it opened straight away. You can either reach out to Kani or VS and they should take care of you.

I just received an email from the Quad Cinema in NYC which stated that Zabriskie Point will be screening next Tuesday with an Intro by Justin LaLiberty from Vinegar Syndrome. I wonder if this means VS will release a 4K of the film soon. Here is the link: https://quadcinema.com/film/zabriskie-point/

Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, The Rolling Stones
In any case, the music will be expensive to release.

It’s always been there on WB’s other home video releases

Based off what MifuneFan said on the other forum, I'm pretty sure VinSyn isn't releasing it but only time will tell.

Those DVD's date from the time Warner Bros. pressed all those defective ones that eventually failed. I'm not sure there are many, if any, discs pressed outside of that time frame as it wasn't a huge seller - all the more reason to hope for a reissue!

I received a direct reply from Justin LaLiberty on my Reddit: “Has absolutely nothing to do with VS, I’m just doing an intro because I’m a fan of the film and have an ongoing New Hollywood project at Letterboxd. I also introduced Paris, Texas there this month and that’s with Criterion.”
