I can’t even think there’s that many MoC releases altogether they keep in print because they’re perpetual good sellers (maybe Metropolis?) - I generally feel especially lately pretty much everything outside the initial release window of 3 years is technically OOP in the sense they won’t be printing any more if they run out. Something like Ace in the Hole could be an interesting test case given how much Eureka’s been pushing their Billy Wilder collection with the recent releases. Thankfully Eureka are actually pretty good that most of the releases outside of the initial release corridor are perpetually £12 or £13 on their site rather than keeping them at the same prices as new titles.

Yes it seems like things are probably kept in print if they are good sellers. Touch Of Evil was listed as a "limited edition", was featured on that "top 10 best sellers of all time" list a few years ago I believe, and has remained in print.

According to a post at the Blu-ray.com forum, Nashville is OOP (no surprise there) and Paper Moon is going OOP at the end of the year.

Nashville is currently out of stock but not officially discontinued.

U.S. Fuller fans should pick up their Fixed Bayonets if they're region-free - better than the Kino disc.

I may pick up Paper Moon if it's still around and included during the next sale.

Yes, that and the Fox-Disney merger made them have to move hastily on House of Bamboo/Hell and High Water (shorter licenses than usual). I believe they attempted to get China Gate from Paramount for that set as well but the latter party weren't responding quick enough so they had to omit it (I still hope they release it one day).

The Barefoot Contessa is no big loss - the master had problems (not MoC's fault).

A New Leaf got a better encode from Olive Signature.

Trouble in Paradise is unfortunate, that was the best physical edition you could get even though it was a DVD. (IIRC they decided not to do a BD because the upgrade was minimal due to the quality of the surviving film elements, and I have to agree - the final master looks "great," but it's got a gauzy and hazy quality to it that undermines the advantages of greater resolution.)

I thought the Birth of a Nation was already OOP - it's not a title I want, but last time I checked, good quality BD's fetched a high price.

Far more than that, it was a whole new and quite superior master.

Death in the Garden also has a better master on the Kino edition, albeit in the wrong AR.

The big loss here is Edvard Munch, one of the greatest films in the entire line and available nowhere else on BD.

I just snatched up a copy on Ebay. There are a couple there at reasonable prices ($40 shipped to US, cheaper if you're in the UK).

I was kind of torn between buying Edvard Munch now or checking out one of the many rips on the web before committing, but I just pulled the trigger rather than wait.

FWIW, Amazon.co.uk has a marketplace seller who has listed it for £19.90 but you would need a UK address.

Eureka's OOP DVD doesn't looks bad and I wonder if it's sourced from the same master (albeit in SD form). That seems to be easy to find for $10-12 USD.
