Speaking of sensationalism, notice how the piece starts off with "The rape that's central to Watchmen's complex character dynamics," and then somewhere near the end downgrades it to: "[Hooded Justice] comes in and interrupts the attempted rape"?

I have stopped reading all the news that have been coming about this movie. Every time I read something, it makes me madder at Hack Snyder and WB/DC comics for letting this idiot at the helm.

This is what will be assaulting your ears over the end credits.

Fortunately, I will not have to be subjected to that, as I was planning on leaving right after the rape scene.

If I had read nothing else about this movie, that alone would tell me everything I need to know.

That is a musical abortion. The fact that Zach Snyder is a MCR fan means he should be barred from any participation in any art form whatsoever.

I find all these virals far more interesting than the film, every time I hear about the movie (i.e. the MCR song) I roll my eyes, but then I see the fake history they're putting all over the web and my interest is piqued, so I'm on the fence about this.

From
Slashfilm:
A thrilling hand to hand fight scene begins between Blake and his assailant. Both men are incredibly strong, with walls being punched out, knives being thrown and caught, and characters being thrown through tables. This is what 300’s action scenes would look like if it was between two guys, and done using only hand-to-hand combat. The kinetic visuals of that film are replicated, where the action rapidly alternates between fast-motion and slow-motion.

The worst/best part is that whoever penned the entire write-up thought that what they were describing wasn't horrible

What domino said.
I generally feel like one of the less cinematically sophisticated members of this forum, but that slashfilm review makes me feel like offering the poor guy some rudimentary lessons. Of course, he's probably 14 years old.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. For so many reasons.
Any lingering doubts that they might pull this off have evaporated.

Snyder does have a questionable sensibility. Doesn't make any sense to add posturing to a work like Watchmen. It made sense for 300, but Watchmen seems entirely wrong for the kind of posturing that would earn the lable "badass."
Although I wasn't going to see this anyway, so it's all idle typing on my part.

I was sort of leaning towards seeing it just so I'd be able to comment on it down the road, as it seems like one of those movies that people are going to try and talk to you about, but that Slash preview slow-mo switched my interest switch off
