DVD Review: Pretty much the greatest thing about this Blu-Ray is that both movies are in 1:78 ration aspect. Or 1:77. Whatever. The picture quality may not be up everyone's a$$ but I hate HD so I was happy about it, thus, don't care what you think.
Movie review: Wizard Of Gore was a weird movie. It made absolutely no sense what so ever. But it was gory. Gore Gore Girls is a wonderful movie filled with ugly broads showing their boobs. Then they get mangled in a hilarious way. Butt tenderizer!!!!

I'm not sure I'd refer to Dave McKean's work as primitive, though the resolution of that clip (from 2000) doesn't really help.

Of a true crime book about Jesse James Cummings, who was executed five years before it was posted:

This has got to be one of the most horrific and brutal true crime stories I have ever read. It is just unimaginable what Cummings did to these women and children. The instance that stands in my mind a lot is when he beat 12 month old Scottie until he got welts because Anita did not want to prostitute herself one night. Another is when he pours bleach on scraped skin. This man is the devil in carnation.
As hard as it was to read, it is important because when murders like him come up for parole, more people can stand up against it if they know the crimes committed. It is amazing how Anita & Sherry stayed as long as they did and how they refrained from putting a bullet in this man's head themselves.
I sympathize with them to an extent. However they are in jail where they belong for their part in Judy & Melissa's murder. I plan on reading and googling more on this case and I hope to discover that they have already put this devil to die.

Can't believe you all gave five stars to a documentary that crops and zooms archival 1.33 footage to fit a 16x9 screen.

That was an artistic choice of the director to show how racism in USA crops out African-American issues and zooms on what's important for the white America...

Am I missing something here? Is it "rediculous" because he said 1.33 instead of 1.33:1 or something?

It's because it's patently absurd to imply that archival footage from television news and/or security cameras, etc needs to be treated with the same reverence as archival film, and even more absurd to imply that this negatively impacts the quality of the documentary itself

I think the fact that I can't remember a single instance of this being distracting in all 7+ hours of the doc means it's probably well-considered cropping, not stretching

Yeah, I didn't notice any streching at all. Didn't notice any cropping either, eventhough (I like to think) I tend to notice these thigs. But that's probably because I was entirely engrossed in the doc. One of the best things I've seen all year, second only to One More Time With Feeling.

That may be true in this case - I haven't seen this documentary. And it's not as bad as "stretching" which now seems to be sadly endemic on British TV at least. But surely this is the sort of thing that reviewers can usefully mention. I was about to buy a Thin Lizzy concert on DVD until I decided to check out a one-star review. Often they are written by certifiable lunatics but in this case he was the only reviewer who mentioned that the entire thing had been cropped to 16:9. Order gratefully cancelled...

Its even more rEdiculous because on top of the type of footage that it is, its not even inferring that there was any stretching of the image. Total fail.
