Why does Crystal seem so ill-at-ease? It's not like he's done this a thousand times or anything. Maybe he just knows his material blows?

The opening Zelig thing was really sad. Like, remember when the world was a simpler place and that kind of thing was amusing? You know, the first eight times he did it? (Not that it actually was then either, but you know...)
I'm surprised they're burning through the No One Cares awards without a big one out of the gate like normal

Was so hoping for Chastain or Bejo to upset that upsetter. Still, Spencer was good in the Help, it's just that her role is one of those genetically-engineered crowd-pleasers, so anyone would have been

Also, Bale pointed to where Bejo's monitor was super-ed onto the screen, which temporarily made me very happy

I thought Bejo would win, against all odds and for no particular reason at all. I'd have been rooting for Chastain more if she had been nominated for a different movie. I do think she's terrific, though, and I might have voted for her myself.

fairly amazed Albert Nobbs didn't win for make-up - and Tree of Life not winning cinematography is a fucking joke.

Holy shit, the Artist didn't win Editing? Yeah, the Academy really isn't as hot on this as some of the other awards shows, surprisingly

Hugo is cleaning up tonight, although suprisingly (in this context) Thelma didn't win editing.

If Davis wins Best Actress, I could see the Help actually winning Best Pic, given the weird vote splitting that's going on tonite

Yeah, things aren't as predictable as they seemed. I'd be happy with a Hugo win.
