Kino Lorber released it on Blu and I’m unaware of any issues with the disc

Subtitles would be nice.
Though definitely not a priority compared to some of Losey's other works. M, in particular, is one I'd love to see Indicator tackle.

Thanks for the nod -had no idea it was available on blu. Shame there are no extras however so might wait up to see if we get a run on Losey from Indicator.

They actually have a ton of Losey either already out or soon on the way on Blu-ray:
Accident (coming next month)
The Criminal (coming next month)
Figures in a Landscape
Galileo
Modesty Blaise
The Romantic Englishwoman
Steaming

Would be amazing to get M, Prowler and King & Country looking really good on Blu ray.
Prowler could probably look really good with better compression and higher bitrate (VCI put out a problematic release a few years ago, perhaps not doing full justice to the big restoration job that the film had benefited)
Can we add Figures in a landscape to that little list. A remarkable film boasting some of the best in camera aerial photography ever.
Good point, I really do admire these most abstract and bizarre Losey films. Reason I left it off is because it has decent releases by Carlotta and Kino.
I’m more focused on the ones that have been “mistreated” or dismissed/ignored.

Well, according to the internet, the clue in the latest newsletter is from Jess Franco's The Blood of Fu Manchu. First Second Run, and now Indicator. People are starting to see the light. I feel like Indicator's newsletter clue's used to take more than a quick image search. Far less mysterious.

Oh come on, this is going to go right next to your Norman J Warren box set.

I hope this will be a new transfer, as the one Blue Underground used looked pretty awful and waxy. Hopefully it'll at least be paired with The Castle of Fu Manchu too, the other Franco Fu, but even better would be a 5 film Towers/Lee Fu set.

IIRC, Pirie includes the first film (directed by Don Sharp, not Franco) in Heritage of Horror - and was very positive about it.

In the blurb for the Hammer set, Indicator introduce The Pirates of Blood River as follows:
The Pirates of Blood River (1962), starring Kerwin Mathews (The 7th Voyage of Sinbad) and Christopher Lee (The Face of Fu Manchu)
Emphasis mine. I'm going to take that as another hint to a Towers/Lee Fu box set coming rather than just a random Franco film, as by itself it would indeed be a pretty odd pick for Indicator.

I was just wondering if Indicator are more into future plans of hoisting the Jolly Roger and sailing into the blood-red horizon and the like or going Paleo-friendly?

Great point. I can definitely see that as their motivation for releasing a Franco movie, which doesn’t really seem to be their province.

Sorry, I genuinely have no idea what you're talking about.

He was making a joke about how a Franco film is more of an Arrow release, then he made a pirate-centric post jokingly pretending that wasn't what he meant at all

As far as I can tell, here are the spine numbers we're currently missing from Indicator:
46 (probably
California Split)
110 (could be John Carpenter's
Starman, as I remember Indicator mentioning this one before)
122
136-139 (some kind of boxset? Not a Fu Manchu one, as that would likely have all five films in the series)
150 (likely a British film, given its place in the middle of a run of nine. Could be another Losey, based on
MichaelB's post)
167-169
172-182
Anything else we know is coming from the label, apart from the sixth Hammer release?

I thought the Starman comment was related to them not getting the rights?
I recall seeing Indicator mention they were trying to get some Ford's at Columbia with some suggestions on blu-ray.com that they (per non-Indicator employees) had Gideon's Day already. A set of Whole Town's Talking-The Long Gray Line-Gideon's Day-The Last Hurrah would be awesome and would fit in the 136-139 slots in my dream scenario.

Which Jess Franco movie did Second Run release?

I'm not sure Second Run has or would release a Franco film. They might be mistaking Vampir Cuadecuc as a Franco film but that's Portabella making something much better

I was referring to Vampir Cuadecuc, yes, but it wasn't a mistake, just that it's based on behind-the-scenes filming of Franco's Count Dracula. I'm sure it's a minority opinion on this board, but I found the Portabella film dreadfully dull & pretentious. Maybe Second Run's extras would aid in my appreciation, but I've no intention of buying the film again.
