I love the bizarre symmetry in that cover, even the swords had to be crossed.

I could be rehashing something that's already been commented upon on this thread already, but... anybody cop a glance at CC's MOST DANGEROUS GAME?

An unexciting image shown as a barely visible, mostly incomprehensible neg? No wonder the price drop on the fuckin thing (it has a commentary, remember?).

I always thought that was a bold and attractive cover design. Anyway, for trivia's sake, I think the price started out at that slightly-lower-than-normal level, probably because it's such a short feature and not even one that would be in high demand.

(Tongue in cheek here, Greg, because I like your mindset and nod when reading 90+% of your posts):

You're a cheap date dude.

Probably so, when it comes to DVD covers, simply because most are so foul it's hard to maintain high standards. Even the corporate music labels seem to show a better knack for cover design than their home video counterparts. The latter probably see it as a different type of marketing, i.e. design doesn't matter as long as film's title, tagline, names of stars, and pictures of stars' faces are visible from across a wide store aisle or from a thumbnail image on the net. Any deviation from that mindset is at least a good start.
I certainly don't think the Most Dangerous Game cover is anything great, and it's not appropriate to the film. Possibly the only reason I like it is because I associate it with Man Ray's solarized and inverted photos and the like.

Very true. Interesting that the non-visual (music videos aside) medium of music places such heavy emphasis in image/appearance and (what is intended in the eyes of the producers to be perceived as) super-top-notch photography for their covers, whereas films' home vid releases can be put out with the commonest slop photoshopped out by interns.

Also, I wasn't serious when I suggested that the cover art was the reason they dropped the price on MOST DANGEROUS... just a bit of sardonic goofing at the usually gaffe-free CC.

Hey, if they're asking they must be noodling thru the site without participating, which is even lamer (unless you mean folks at home observing you guys online... in which case I'm sort've excused because I'm trying to keep myself awake completely alone running a deserted network/studio command center on a 12 hour midnite-noon shift-- after my family get-together. And hey, dysfunctional family gatherings pretty much require those occasional Escapes To Solitude in your room!)

Fuckem if they can't take a smoke.

Lord help me. So many visible reasons why "Paul Todd" should no longer be permitted to live it boggles the mind. You a) look at that picture and say b) "Yes! that's just the look I wanted for myself", you thereby should c) be put to sleep immediately.

Isn't that one of Rick Moranis' characters from SCTV? That's the first thing I thought of when I saw it. (I know, it was Gerry Todd, but it sure looks like Rick circa 1982.)

Why is that guy dressed as a Mounty?! Idiota stupido! :?

As for that Paul Todd geezer, I always wondered who inherited Michael Bolton's hair. It must have been on Ebay with a "Buy Now!" option. Damn.

These are the End Times.

I don't know what is worst; the cover of the DVD or the fact that this piece of crap gets a 2-disc DVD set at a pretty low price, while I have to pay a premium for Special Editions of Jarhead and Ray
