The Wonder Years is sentimentalist baby boomer bullshit that wasn't worth the time when it aired. Mr. Show destroys it.

Wait, who was comparing Mr. Show and The Wonder Years? And I can't say I've ever read a more juvenile assessment of something not posted by Barmy.

Indeed, the comparison was between Mr. Show and The State, which means my dismissal should have been worded even less diplomatically, as The State is considerable worse than The Wonder Years, and is possibly even as witless and unfunny as The Family Guy.

You are considerable worse than anyone I've ever been dragged into a debate with.

^^^ Still doesn't compensate for the fact that, for 2010, USA Network is sacking Goren/Eames/Ross/Wheeler (Nicholson was leaving anyway to have another kid) from "L&O:CI" to turn the show into 'The Jeff Goldblum Show' (with Saffron Burrows tagging along as partner): http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/09/25/ ... -order-ci/.

I knew there was a reason I sold off Season 1. This is a great looking show, and will benefit majorly from a Blu-Ray presentation.

Will 'Breaking Bad' on blu-ray feature the uncut version of the show? :-k

I am wondering if FOX will ever release the last half of Voyage to the bottom of the sea?

Shout Factory is releasing the complete* series of The Goldbergs, available exclusively from their online store. Let's hope that doesn't mean DVD-R.

*complete as in "all the stuff we could find in the UCLA archives."

Also: The Barbara Stanwyck Show, vol. 1 is available now, and vol. 2 is coming in May. It's being put out by the Archive of American Television, who also released the excellent Studio One Anthology and the original TV version of "What Makes Sammy Run?" I've never seen this show, and I'm sure that some of the episodes are pure camp, but Jacques Tourneur directed something like half of the episodes. The loose remake of Double Indemnity with Lee Marvin has me intrigued.

Has anyone seen the Jacques Tourneur-directed episodes? Are any of his other television works available on DVD?

I though his Twilight Zone episode "Night Call" was really excellent.

A Bonanza episode from Season 2. I haven't seen it, but it has its fierce proponents, seriously.

The Archive of American Television has also released a collection of Omnibus episodes featuring Leonard Bernstein, and the Omnibus presentation of Orson Welles' King Lear.

Flight of the Conchords "Complete Collection" includes all two(!) seasons and all one(!) whole live show. On 3 whole DVDs! Folks, it doesn't get any completer than this.

At long last, Rich Man Poor Man is FINALLY coming to DVD! What's interesting is that it sounds like they are releasing both the original and the sequel together in a 9 disc set. Release date is Sept. 28th and MSRP looks to be $79.95.

Still have to wait and see what the specs will be....they list run time as 720 minutes which would be the original 12 eps. but the product description says "all 34 episodes from Book I and II" together in one set. that has to be a typo right?
