Most of them are still in stock and only available that way. I know nobody reads beyond the current page's posts, but recently discussed. Twice. (Hint, Bottle Rocket is the only one in print where you may get one or the other, else it's still all cardboard.)

This has turned into a fairly pathetic human carnival.

I believe he was speaking of the forum, or possibly the earth, in general.

Ah ok. I thought that them packages would`ve been sold out by now. At least I hoped...

I would like to get a Bottle Rocket digipak, but the ones at ebay are too expensive.

Wait. The digipaks are actually desirable? I have a few I'd love to swop over to cases. Frances, you want a Bottle Rocket digipak? I'll trade you for a standard case.

Yeah, I threw all of mine in the trash. Who knew I could have made a few bucks from them?

The blu-ray digipaks are the worst packaging for any DVD I've personally seen.

I just happen to like digipaks. I don't have any from BD criterions, so i don't know the quality, but they look good.

They are horrendous. They are not the digipaks you're thinking of.

The early blu-ray digipacks were awful, but Criterion has really gotten it right with Brakhage and Leopard. I hope Seven Samurai is digipack too.

I haven't seen the latest ones, but I'm sure they got it right this time. The early ones were all standing at a 60 degree angle on my shelf.

Exactly. I love digipacks, but I don't know that one can even call those early shit-sleeves digipacks when compared to the lovely packages Criterion has put together in the past and continues to put together. Brakhage looks lovely on my shelf and every time I open it up. But on the other hand, I'm glad to be rid of the early BD packages, and of underwhelming DVD digis like Playtime in exchange for the wonderful stubby clear plastic cases.

I vote for application of this appellation in order to avoid confusion with actual digipaks.

Well they are budget sets, but how much extra can it cost to add a flap on the bottom of the sets??? Everytime I lift an Eclipse set, all the films fall straight to my toes. :x

Nah. They've got nice, plastic, Amaray-style thinpacks inside. Honestly, I view the o-sleeve on Eclipse set as a disposable marketing necessity -- a tool for bundling multiple titles for retail. I collapse the Eclipse sleeves and store them flat in the event that I want to sell a set, but I yank all of the titles out and shelve them alphabetically.

I carry all the Eclipse titles in my trenchcoat pockets and deal them out like cards to my friends

What's the problem with Playtime digi? (i don't own it)

It was probably the least necessary digi ever, in terms of art design. All that surface area to play with and they left it ninety percent blank white space. May as well have done a figure-8 keepcase instead.

That's odd, since the cover is quite interesting. In France, some Tati's movies were released in digipaks. Here's Playtime - http://www.dvdpascher.net/bestof/toppac ... -8536.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
