it looks different...

while i had no problems with the way it was, i guess this new design is fine. it feels compact and kind of like facebook's layout. i suppose that's the new trend?

Good God it's just awful. Looks like something someone would create by tinkering with Blogger layout code.

It doesn't really look much different to me. I can tell that there are changes but they seem pretty minor, mostly moving the "New Releases" section to a more visible spot and generally streamlining the thing. But it still has very much the same feel as the previous design.

The Auteurs people designed the previous version for them. They've obviously just gotten rid of all the Auteurs stuff and removed all the stupid links to Mubi threads. It's really just a streamlined version of what was there a couple of days ago.

But now I won't know if The Grand Illusion is worth watching...

Those Mubi threads were the biggest embarassment to Criterion.

I didn't know Anne Consigny had a younger sister.

It looks better. Like Jeff said, it's a more streamlined version.
By the way, what's up with the poster (mural?) behind Anne Consigny's sister? Does it augur any Buster Keaton in the horizon?

Considering that that picture has been around for like three years now, I guess "no".

I love the new design... the old layout had been stale for a while. Great to see more of the fonts match the branding on the DVD packaging and not matching whatever was chosen for Mubi's site.

Your link must be mistaken, all I see is a low-res picture of blood-filled vomit.

I didn't know Criterion did German one-sheets (and as far back as 2000?)

I assumed that swimminghorses took a small nice original image, dropped it into MS Paint, enlarged it and applied an orange layer, and posted it on Criterion's site. Sorry for not originally including my whole imaginary story.

Can Blood of the Poet really be counted as a silent? Criterion you're trying to hard to be one of the cool kids.

I was really expecting them to stuff that list with a few dozen Brakhage films (and how funny is it that one of their best silent films is a ghettoized extra: Paris qui dort).
