jesus the mexican boi wrote:This is a phenomenal bestseller -- to those millions of disaffected who are looking for "the secret" to why their lives suck ass. My personal secret? I got one of these misdelivered to my mailbox. I opened the package and returned the still-sealed disc to a local B&M store and got a Criterion movie instead. Ah, the cleansing power of confession.
You obviously attracted that misdelivered copy of The Secret because you were putting all your psychic energies into wanting the latest Criterion and the world responded by causing a mail foul-up to open the door for a B&M exchange! So you have become another example of the benefits of channelling your positive thoughts effectively!
And you also did a good deed by saving the person who actually ordered a copy of The Secret from being exposed to it!
patrick wrote:Also in regards to The Secret, we got a copy in at work because tons of middle-aged women were requesting it and I had to turn it off as soon as there was some sort of cosmic genie telling me to write down my deepest desires.
I wonder how many deepest desires from people watching were of being able to find the receipt for their Secret DVD? If there is one thing that Americans do not need it is a DVD and book telling them how to act even more annoyingly upbeat about everything! "Look at those clouds, they're just
so super!"
I got warned clear of it when the Onion did a two-part, hard hitting expose in March (i.e. laughed at it!)
Part One and
Part Two of the article.

When will they just cast Eddie Griffin, Bernie Mac, and Wanda Sykes in So You Need Some Black People In Your White Movie?

To be fair, that's
the original Swedish poster. Not a great design to resurrect, but at least they didn't use either of these
Spanish posters.

Someone in Hollywood clearly wasn't wearing their contacts when they greenlit the Manilow cover

Wow. That second Spanish poster is amazing. When I go, Death better be surfing through nebulas on a chessboard or I'm filing a suit against God for false advertising.

This is the border control American politicians should be focusing on.

And is just me, or is Death rocking out with his sickle-air-guitar?

I'm sorry but Something Weird Video DVD covers don't count for me as Worst DVD covers nominees. I love each and everyone one of them. They have a style all their own. One who's appropriate too.

What do you do when the regular box art is too tall for your Blu-Ray cover?
Why, just squeeze down the image!

Isn't that what they all do?

Is it? I admittedly don't pay a whole lot of attention to Blu-Ray coverage. If so, yikes!

I assume as much, seeing that often the HD and/or Blue-Ray is often the same cover as the standard editions. BTW, that was a good show, but I'm pretty sure the 2nd season will bore me to tears.

Guns, super-imposed people, random explosions ... what's not to like?
(but I still say that red catches the eye, so they do get bonus points for that)

Hard to argue with the second part of that tagline.

I suppose they needed to hit home the fact that Murray is the star of
this, since they've got a picture of him twice. Also, I'm sure it was the designers intention for those photoshopped hands to appear as though they are Murray's, but they seem to be detached and are floating in front of him.

The image isn't showing up, but if this is the new
Groundhog Day DVD art you're referring to, then yes, it is absolutely horrid.
